Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips for Tuesday’s racing at Ayr, Leicester, Redcar and Southwell.
Ayr Best Bet
Race 6: MUTAMADED (3)
Trainer: Ruth Carr
Jockey: Andrew Mullen
MUTAMADED is sure to go off at a working man’s price after completely flopping on the soft ground at Chester but now finds himself in a different ball game. On this faster terrain he can raise his game and get into the argument.
Leicester Best Bets
Race 3: JUNGLE INTHEBUNGLE (1)
Trainer: Mick Channon
Jockey: Scott McCullough
Having gone close when dropped to this level at Salisbury, JUNGLE INTHEBUNGLE again has to give away weight but this is alleviated by his jockey’s 7lb claim and the combination are going to prove hard to beat.
Race 5: COTUBANAMA (3)
Trainer: Mick Channon
Jockey: Silvestre de Sousa
It’s taken COTUBANAMA a long time to recapture her smart juvenile form that saw her win twice at Salisbury. She was highly tried on a few occasions but now at a realistic level she looks ready to strike again. Her recent second at Chepstow has brought her right to the boil.
Redcar Best Bets
Race 4: TUKHOOM (6)
Trainer: Michael Herrington
Jockey: Duran Fentiman
Herrington does well with cast offs from big stables and TUKHOOM is ready to step up to the plate after posting a near miss first time out this season at Doncaster. Considering he missed the break and had to come through horses he did well to run Hammer Gun to just a head. With a nice break since, he’s fresh and fancied for this.
Race 5: SNEAKY PEEK (12)
Trainer: Andrew Balding
Jockey: David Probert
With SNEAKY PEEK it’s best to forget her Chester reverse when both the soft ground and sharp track didn’t suit her. She started joint-favourite for that and was never travelling after a slow start. At this course and on faster ground she’ll have more time to get organised and can bounce back.
Southwell Best Bet
Race 3: SHOW PALACE (5)
Trainer: Jennie Candlish
Jockey: Conor Beasley
This involves two or three sprinters knocking on the door the best of which is SHOW PALACE. She was doing all her best work up the steep finish when third at Beverley earlier in the month, and while yet to win on this surface the run is thought to have brought her to concert pitch.
