Winning Form Magic Tips Preview
The defending champion and mile specialist CAPTAIN AMERICA races fresh after a 19 week absence following his creditable display in the Met but his top class conditioner will have him spot-on and the relentless galloper could again be the one to beat.
His stablemate SAIL SOUTH, in contrast, has had a prep outing in the province and he will strip much fitter today. He got much closer to the first selection than expected in the Queen’s Plate but the latter may still have the edge on this short run- in.
The major threat could come from the top class filly SNOWDANCE who is a dual Grade 1 winner over the mile and she may have just needed her comeback run on local debut early last month.
That was also her first start under the lights but the effort would have brought the daughter of Captain Al on perfectly for today’s contest and she should threaten the above pairing despite the fact that she is 2.5kgs out at the weights on official ratings.
That said, the lightly raced inmate from the Snaith yard still has much scope and she could prove to be even better than her current rating.
TRIP TO HEAVEN is a most interesting entrant for he has gone close in this event for the past two years.
