Race 1: FLY PEG FLY(2)

Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Paul GADSBY

FLY PEG FLY has improved with racing and she caught the eye with a strong late effort for third over this six furlongs on this course behind some decent sorts, last time out. She has been rested 21 weeks since but would have strengthened during that time and has plenty of scope for improvement. Her conditioner knows how to bring them back well and she should be competitive in this opening contest. The speedsters will most probably cut throats up front and she will be running on nicely at the finish.

Race 2: MUMSY’S JET(14)

Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Alyson WRIGHT

MUMSY’S JET drifted in the betting market but still put up a highly promising debut effort over this c & d in September. The well-related son of Western Winter produced a powerful finish and only failed by a short head to reel in Lindaba over this c & d, that day. He has been given a three month break since and would have come on smartly with that experience under his belt. Delpech retains the ride which is always encouraging and the Alyson Wright inmate should give a very good account of himself.

Jockey: Anton MARCUS – Trainer: Alyson WRIGHT

FAMILY FORTUNE has shown fair form in all three of her runs to date. She tried the mile and the turn for the first time in her latest outing but tired late into a fair 5th. However, the form of that contest has worked out well and the daughter of Dynasty would have benefitted from a subsequent nine week break. She meets a much weaker field today and the engaging of Marcus suggests that her trainer will have her fit and ready. She jumps from a handy draw but the slight concern is that she tackles the right hand turn for the first time.

Jockey: Warren KENNEDY – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

LA CENERENTOLA landed the outside gamble when she finished well to win her debut over six furlongs on this course, three weeks ago. She didn’t beat anything of note but that experience would have brought her on considerably and she should make lots of natural improvement. The extra furlong should suit the daughter of Western Winter and she can follow up in this low-key handicap. She jumps from a handy draw on her debut around the turn.

Race 7: LEGEND DANCER(12) (Each Way)
Jockey: Donovan DILLON – Trainer: Michael ROBERTS

This is another very competitive affair that should be run at a very fast pace. The lightly raced five year old LEGEND DANCER has lots of issues but has plenty of ability and is in good form. He may have just needed his last run when tiring late behind COMMODITY STRIKE over this trip at Clairwood but produced a strong late burst to win his penultimate outing over the minimum trip. He still has lots of scope for improvement and has his third run after the break. The son of Black Minnaloushe jumps in class but shoulders a light mass of 52kgs and will be running on nicely at the finish.
