INSATIABLE has finished second in both her career efforts to date. She showed good speed last time, but found one too good in the form of Lucy English. The daughter of Querari returns from a 14-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. She meets the right field today and if not in need of the run, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

MIKE’S CHICK followed up her comfortable maiden victory with an impressive win over 1600m on the Inside course. Perfect Witness has won and finished second in a Grade 2 since. The daughter of Vercingetorix has plenty of class about her and should take a power of beating.
Race 8: SOUTHERN BLAZE (10)
Jockey: D de Gouveia – Trainer: S Pettigrew
SOUTHERN BLAZE produced a promising debut effort over this distance at the Vaal, five weeks ago. He was slow into stride but once finding his feet, he finished his race off well. The son of Global View would have gained from the experience and should make the natural improvement. If not too green around the turn, he can shed his maiden tag.
