BRIGHTON

Race 1 – SHAW PARK 15/10

The drop back to seven furlongs could see SHAW PARK go one better than when beaten late over 1m at this venue just four days ago.

Bottom weight and course regular Heer’s Sadie followed up a recent track and trip handicap success with a good third here four weeks ago and should be in thr mix.

Tea Sea represents a stable that excels with its runners at this venue. Must be considered upon return from 168 days off.

Race 3 – VILLALOBOS 7/2

VILLALOBOS ran well when sixth over 1m2f among handicap company at Bath on reappearance recently.

Dropping back to 1m will suit and holds leading claims in this classified event.

With the same official rating as the main selection Kondratiev Wave looks a strong contender especially after his hard-fought all-the-way success over seven furlongs here earlier in the week. Fifth home that day Voltaic warrants respect racing for the same stable.

Previous course and distance winner Split Elevens definitely holds ability to go close if on a going day.

Race 6 – VOODOO RAY 2/1

VOODOO RAY has also been a revelation this season and can stretch his winning sequence to four in the AK Bets Chat To A Trader Handicap.

Gary and Josh Moore’s gelding looked to have more in hand than the official winning margins suggested when bagging a double at this course and completed the hat-trick in fine fashion at Bath.

The five-year-old gelding has hit the line strongly on each occasion for Tom Queally and the handicapper has had a tough job keeping up with his progress.

Race 7 – KATIE G 28/10

A 3lb rise in weights for a recent KATIE G success on the all-weather at Lingfield looks manageable.

The Ed Dunlop-trained filly adopted a first-time visor on that occasion and with the same headgear retained can follow up in the Ak Bets Emile Heskey Euros Video Handicap.

Chris Dwyer and Silvestre de Sousa have teamed up to good effect this season and Kurimu, who finished second over 7f at Yarmouth on her penultimate outing, may go close now dropping in distance returning to a decent surface.

Last-time-out Catterick runner-up Yiengaa could be thereabouts off an unchanged mark.

GOODWOOD

Race 2 – D FLAWLESS 18/10

D FLAWLESS appeals in the William Hill Epic Value Apprentice Fillies’ Novice Stakes, with connections having opted to go for this contest rather than a Listed event on Saturday at the Sussex course.

Her narrow second to Arisaig at Kempton in December has worked out well and the Gosdens gave the daughter of Make Believe a nice confidence booster when she scored at prohibitive odds at Chelmsford.

Race 4 – ROYAL VELVET 3/1

Dropping back to seven furlongs may prove a positive move for ROYAL VELVET in the William Hill Extra Place Races Apprentice Handicap.

This daughter of Lightning Spear didn’t look to stay when not beaten far into seventh over 1m at Newmarket in latest and may resume her upward trajectory under Brandon Wilkie.

Loaded Quiver returned to action with a good third tackling this trip at Salisbury and should be respected.

The unexposed Crimson Coronet was below-par when last of seven making handicap debut at Nottingham. Could do better now down in journey.

Race 5 – BOTAS 4/1

BOTAS recorded an eighth career success scoring a 1m contest at Kempton last-time-out.

The 4lb rise in weights might not be enough to prevent a follow-up with Luke Catton his regular apprentice rider on board once more.

One Step Beyond commands respect following a solid third-placed finish tackling 1m at Ascot.

The winner of that contest won a valuable Epsom handicap last weekend giving form a boost. Rates a big danger.

Island Bandit makes reappearance over a course and distance where he won his sole outing.

Cabinet Of Clowns is also worth noting.

Race 6 – DANCING IN PARIS 5/4

It was a competitive handicap DANCING IN PARIS landed at York. The Ian Williams-trained four-year-old might take some beating off a revised mark.

Genesius shaped as though he could come on for the run when third tackling slightly shorter at Lingfield upon return. Maintains solid credentials off the same rating with ground conditions to suit.

Dropping in standard Vaynor is back below his previous winning mark and cannot be ruled out with the talented Jack Enright claiming 5lb.

Fiddlers Green may feature once more despite failing to land a hat-trick managing sixth at Leicester.
