MARKET RASEN

Race 1 – MAGIC WAVE 3/10

Market Rasen punters are advised to side with MAGIC WAVE in the opening Pertemps Network “National Hunt” Maiden Hurdle.

Mark Walford’s charge has been off the track for a year, but he sets a lofty standard on form.

Having finished second in his first two bumper starts, Magic Wave bolted up in that sphere on his first outing of last season before filling the runner-up spot behind Pembroke on his hurdling bow at Wetherby.

Pembroke is now rated 135 over both hurdles and fences, so for Magic Wave to get within six and a half lengths of him was a fair effort. A reproduction of that form may well be enough on his comeback.

Race 3 – SINNDARELLA 7/2

SINNDARELLA found success by a length among this handicap hurdle company at Cartmel in August and will be a leading player after a small break.

Jersey Lady was in great form earlier this year with three victories tackling similar staying trips.

This will be her second race under new trainer Harry Derham and is ready to show best form after a fourth earlier in November.

Kentford Mallard and Just Sophie could both be of interest.

Race 6 – HAUT FOLIN 2/1

HAUT FOLIN found success on seasonal return at Ffos Las when a seven-and-a-half-length winner of a handicap chase over this distance on heavy going.

The six-year-old has a strong chance remaining in the same grade.
Henschke stayed on well at Plumpton in May recording a success among this company tackling a handicap chase and should be respected.

Roll With It won a novices hurdle here in July three starts ago and will be of interest on chase debut.

Race 7 – DENBURN 18/10

DENBURN made a big impression on his debut at the Lincolnshire venue in the spring and ought to prove hard to beat on his return in the Pertemps Network Open National Hunt Flat Race.

The grey gave his connections an immediate return on their £50,000 investment when streaking 11 lengths clear of his rivals first time out and unless one of the newcomers is well above average, he should double up under the mandatory penalty.

WINCANTON

Race 3 – IL PINO 91/100

Paul Nicholls rarely leaves his local track without a winner and can add to his tally with IL PINO in the Lenny Roberts Memorial Trophy Novices’ Hurdle.

It is nearly a year since the Coastal Path gelding impressed in a point-to-point and he is now ready to make his debut under rules.

In the same race Nicholls also saddles Pentire Head, who already has some decent form to his name, most notably chasing home the exciting Johnnywho in a Taunton bumper in the spring on his most recent start.

For stable jockey Harry Cobden to have seemingly got off him in favour of partnering Il Pino suggests the latter has been showing up well on the Ditcheat gallops.

Race 4 – GOODTIMECREW 28/10

GOODTIMECREW brings the benefit of a run which could be vital against this field.

Returned after an eight-month absence with a neck second at Plumpton in a maiden hurdle. Race fitness might see her win.

Pawapuri was good enough to be raced at graded level last season including a fourth in the G2 Adonis Juvenile Novices Hurdle. May need first race back.

Annie K and Getmetothemoon hold each-way claims.

Race 6 – TAMARIS 7/2

TAMARIS looks well placed to complete a hat-trick for the in-form Joe Tizzard team in the Evelyn Partners Handicap Chase.

The Venn Farm handler has enjoyed an excellent November so far, highlighted by big-race success in the Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter and a winner at Cheltenham last weekend.

Tamaris himself has made a good start to his autumn campaign and can continue his progress with victory at Wincanton.

The six-year-old was disappointing at Worcester in early August, but a subsequent wind operation looks to have done the trick judged on dominant wins at Plumpton and Fontwell.

A 5lb hike for his latest triumph does not look insurmountable as long as conditions are not overly testing in Somerset.

Race 7 – VENTARA 9/2

VENTARA is another major contender for Tizzard in the Bruton Handicap Hurdle.

The five-year-old shaped with plenty of encouragement when second on his handicap debut at Chepstow a few weeks ago and a step up in trip should see him in an even better light.

The 5lb claim of Tizzard’s nephew Freddie Gingell is another positive for Ventara’s chances.
