NEWMARKET

Race 1 – BILLBOARD STAR 11/10

BILLBOARD STAR made a very encouraging debut at Goodwood earlier this month and is worth following in the Black Type Accountancy British EBF “Confined” Restricted Novice Stakes.

Eve Johnson Houghton’s charge caught the eye coming home strongly in third behind odds-on favourite Principality and Wathnan purchase Carrados, who both had the benefit of a previous outing.

That form has been franked by fourth-placed Mythical Composer romping home at Bath on Monday night, while Victory Sound in fifth has since scored at Haydock.

Race 2 – STARSHINE LEGEND 13/10

STARSHINE LEGEND was gelded before making his handicap bow and kept on well for a cosy Catterick triumph over Made In China, who went one better at Bath on Monday.

The three-year-old son of Sea The Stars gets a 5lb upgrade for that victory but still looks on a nice mark for the TrustATrader Handicap after previously giving little away in a trio of novice events.

Race 4 – TAREEFA 83/100

TAREEFA a stands out in the My Pension Expert Fillies’ Novice Stakes after a promising introduction at Haydock for William Haggas and Tom Marquand.

A half-sister to three winners, including Group One scorer Nezwaah, the daughter of Night Of Thunder did not enjoy a clear passage when fourth behind Forever Blue and went into many notebooks that day.

Race 5 – TOIMY SON 4/1

TOIMY SON may have been given a little bit too much to do when a beaten favourite last time but his previous second to Wild Tiger looks good after that victor followed up in the Royal Hunt Cup.

Now nearly 20lb lower than his initial mark when joining David Menuisier last April, the five-year-old former Listed-class scorer in France gets the nod in the Boodles Handicap.

NEWCASTLE

Race 2 – WHAT’S SHE AT 9/2

Archie Watson trained two-year-olds often know their job and WHAT’S SHE AT is a daughter of Arizona and selected to make a winning debut in the Jenningsbet In Boroughbridge Restricted Maiden Stakes.

Brastias showed ability when sixth of eight tackling this trip debuting at Haydock. Might do better for that experience gained.

Kissing Strangers gave himself something to build on when fifth first-time-out at Leicester (7f). In the mix.

Race 4 – VEYDARI 17/10

Fresh from enjoying great success at Royal Ascot with their juveniles, Wathnan Racing can strike with VEYDARI in the Coopers Marquees Novice Stakes.

This 200,000 guineas recruit is a half-brother to the useful Verimli and can be forgiven for finishing only sixth of 15 when well backed on his Haydock debut as he jumped a path soon after the start.

Race 5 – BRUNCH 6/1

BRUNCH has slipped back down to a dangerous mark this term and can take full advantage in the JenningsBet In Kippax Seaton Delaval Handicap.

The seven-year-old was only beaten by just over a length when sixth in this race last season and is now 12lb better off with the winner Lattam.

Michael Dods’ gelding had prevailed on his two previous visits to this venue, albeit earlier on in his career.

Having struggled a bit towards the end of last year, Brunch looked in much better spirits when a close fourth at Nottingham on his recent seasonal reappearance, when caught short of room a couple of times, and this seems the ideal moment to get behind him again.

Race 7 – RAINYNITEINGEORGIA 5/1

Top-weight RAINYNITEINGEORGIA produced a nice effort managing third on handicap debut at Goodwood in May. That outing followed an absence of 262 days and with that run under her belt looks the one to beat revisiting AW.

Stash The Cash posted a good effort when third at Leicester last-time-out, so will be in the mix.

It would not surprise were Brummell to bounce back returning to five furlongs off a more workable rating.

Ticktyboo might be worth noting from an each-way perspective.
