REDCAR

Race 1 – FIFTY SENT 13/2

FIFTY SENT was favourite last month at Ayr but unseated his rider in the closing stages.

The four-year-old showed plenty of ability there three runs back when second in a lower class handicap tackling a similar trip and is a serious player here.

Poet’s Dawn ran with credit at Beverley finishing fifth attempting a higher level handicap over this journey two weeks ago, and could go close if building on that effort.

Copper And Five and Premiership could both feature.

Race 4 – FORCEFUL SPEED 5/4

FORCEFUL SPEED can continue his resurgence in the Market Cross Jewellers Handicap.

The son of New Bay won twice as a juvenile last season for trainer George Boughey, but that was not enough to prevent him from being gelded over the winter.

He was well beaten on his return to action in soft ground at Doncaster, but that is hardly surprising given he pulled fiercely for his head during the early exchanges.

His latest effort on a quicker surface at Pontefract is a better reflection of his ability as with a tongue-tie fitted for the first time he got back on the winning trail, clinging on to deny subsequent winner Paddy The Wire by a short head.

Provided conditions do not become testing, there is every chance Forceful Speed can defy a 2lb rise and add to his tally.

Race 5 – IMPELLER 8/1

IMPELLER can be relied upon to produce another solid display in the Racing TV Profits Returned To Racing Handicap.

Tim Easterby’s charge has been largely consistent this term, racking up one win and a handful of places after really hitting his stride from July onwards.

Placed in two similar races to this at Ripon on his latest couple of starts, Impeller remains on a competitive mark of 71.

Race 7 – MERRIJIG 9/4

MERRIJIG showed plenty of ability earlier this month at Carlisle when a neck second in this handicap grade tackling a similar trip.

That form has worked out and he rates a leading contender to go one place better.

Assembled ran well at Bath finishing a neck second attempting this handicap level and journey and is a big threat.

Lincoln Rockstar and Bamboo Bay are both worth a second look.

YARMOUTH

Race 1 – ROSENZOO 13/10

ROSENZOO maintains strong form with a Newcastle third in this grade preceding a success attempting this level over 1m at Kempton last week, and has a strong chance.

Line Sheet could prove the danger following a victory in a lower class 7f nursery at Leicester.

Alfred has been running well with a pair of places including a Kempton third behind Rosenzoo and could be in the mix.

Race 3 – MANHATTAN MIRAGE 14/10

MANHATTAN MIRAGE showed plenty of promise on debut when third in a 6f maiden at Ffos Las.

Open to progress second up and rates a serious player with the two-year-old holding a Group One entry later in the month.

Infinity Blue produced a good fourth in this grade tackling 7f at Chester and is a big threat.

Warsong looks like an interesting newcomer representing top connections and can be considered alongside Mukaafah.

Race 5 – MISS TAI TAI 11/2

MISS TAI TAI had her winning streak broken at Leicester last month, but compensation awaits in the Moulton Nurseries Fillies’ Handicap.

James Fanshawe’s charge was seeking a fourth win on the bounce, having previously struck at Leicester, Goodwood and Lingfield. However, it was not be as she was beaten half a length into second.

Miss Mai Tai raced prominently that day and was just reeled in with the winning post in sight, losing little in defeat.

The handicapper has edged her up 1lb to a mark of 75, but this daughter of Prince Of Lir could yet rise to the challenge.

Race 7 – SNOW BERRY 7/2

SNOW BERRY found success in a course and distance classified event before a solid Nottingham handicap third and will go well here.

Darlo Pride ran well at Chelmsford when a neck second attempting this handicap level and journey and should go close again.

Bernard Spierpoint and Universal Grace shouldn’t be ruled out.
