Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: SAFE HARBOUR(2)

Jockey: Juan-Paul VAN DER MERVE – Trainer: Sean TARRY

The solitary filly in this contest SAFE HARBOUR was impressive when she landed the betting coup on debut over this c & d, three weeks ago. That form hasn’t amounted to much as the runner-up failed dismally subsequently but this daughter of Elusive Fort has huge room for improvement and she could turn into a smart type. She should have little issue taking on male rivals & could take some beating.

TOP BET

Race 3: KAHULA(1)

Jockey: Juan-PAul VAN DER MERVE – Trainer: Sean TARRY

KAHULA found some outside betting support when she made a winning debut on this track, four weeks ago. She was outpaced in the early stages of that event but quickened smartly to win going away and appears a promising sort in the making. She concedes weight all around, being the only winner in this contest but has plenty more to offer and should still take all the beating. The extra half-furlong will suit her perfectly.

Race 5: PROSPECT STRIKE(1)

Jockey: Julius MARIBA – Trainer: Sean TARRY

PROSPECT STRIKE
was disappointing when no doubt needing his comeback run over five furlongs for his new yard, five weeks ago. The top class Toreador gelding will strip much fitter today and he could bounce right back to form. He is best weighted in this graduation plate and should take a power of beating.

Race 9: CHEPARDO(6)

Jockey: Callan MURRAY – Trainer: Alec LAIRD

There are some classy four-year-olds on display in this competitive handicap but all eyes will be on the unbeaten CHEPARDO from the Alec Laird yard. This son of Trippi completed a fine hat-trick of wins when he drew off late in his comeback run over seven furlongs, four weeks ago. He picked up a seven-pound penalty and rises in class today but the chestnut gelding has huge room for improvement. He jumps from a good draw on his track debut and gets the narrow first verdict.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 8: PARISIENNE CHIC(5)

Jockey: Raymond DANIELSON – Trainer: St John GRAY

This is a low-key fillies and mares handicap and though the three-year-olds have a tough task at the weights, they could still dominate the outcome. The Witchcraft c & d formline on Guineas Day could be worth following and PARISIENNE CHIC could be ready to show her true potential, particularly without blinkers. The daughter of Bankable had some fair prior form and she gave every indication that this trip could be to her liking. However, she clearly didn’t enjoy the headgear last time and overraced as a result. She now has her third run after the layoff and can bounce back to best form.
