ANGELIC is above-average which her promising second outing showed. The three-year old bay filly raced wide over a mile in a strong field that day but still ran on strongly for 2nd and she clearly has much more improvement to come. This longer run-in will suit her perfectly and the Paul Peter inmate can pull this off despite her wide draw. She is her jockey’s solitary ride on the card.

GRASSHOPPER has found his form again since being equipped with blinkers and adopting frontrunning tactics. He tired late in each of his last two ten furlong starts in slightly stronger company and should stake a serious claim over this shorter distance.

CATHEDRAL COUNTY is a smart son of Trippi who was expected to go closer behind MAGIC (1.5kgs worse off) recently but was probably moved on too soon by his top jockey. His form shows that he is clearly capable of better though and the lightly raced four-year old should get his career back on track today. He is unbeaten with top jockey Gavin Lerena in the saddle and has no issues racing around the turn.
