Race 4

ICONIC DAME is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys and was crowded and checked at the 800M mark when finishing sixth last time out over six furlongs, just under four and a half-length behind the winner and that was at a stronger centre. She is drawn the widest of them all in gate ten, but she will be having her peak run after returning from a 21-week break and is taken to be the best bet on the day’s card.

UNIQUE PRINCE followed up his penultimate run victory over six furlongs with an eighth-place finish next time out over 1300M, just under three and a half lengths back from the winner, but he did not get the clearest of passages in the home straight that day and hung in from the 200M pole. The gelding returns from a 26-week spell, but has had the one barrier trial to prove his well-being. From his kinder draw three, he could represent the biggest danger to the top choice.

DRAGONS BREATH showed solid improvement to win his last start over six furlongs by 1.3L. He showed plenty of toe that day and could prove hard to reel in jumping from gate four and he should be involved in the finish.

Race 5

Two 4yr old fillies could fight out the finish to this race and complete the exacta, but the day’s value bet, CAB PERRIO could lead the field home. She finished second on debut over 1175M, just a neck behind the winner, this despite being slow away and friendless in the betting markets. She would have learnt from that experience and with the natural improvement that can be expected, she could be the one that they all have to beat, notwithstanding being drawn wide in gate ten.

ASPIRED has finished second in her last two starts since returning from a 34-week spell, the latest over five furlongs, four lengths off the winner, but she was hampered at the start that day. She recovered well to race up with the pace, but just found one too good for her on the day. She gets draw six and will have 3kgd taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice.

TRIANON raced up with the speed when ending up in second spot last time out over seven furlongs, seven and a half lengths adrift of the victor and is sure to appreciate the drop in trip. He has pulled a handy gate four and should be right up there when they hit the line. There is an unraced runner in the field, so keep an eye on the betting markets to get some indication as to whether her connections believe that they can win first time out. Any betting support for her should be respected.

Race 6

There are three unraced runners in this field, so, just as above and as is always the case in these types of races, a keen eye should be kept on the betting markets to get some indication as to whether any of the connections believe that they can win first time out. Any betting support for a runner or runners should be respected. Of the raced runners PURE HYDROGEN may well prove to be the best. He made good late progress at a stronger centre to finish fifth last time out over seven furlongs, just under two and a half length behind the winner. He is drawn the widest of them all in gate eleven, but he has his peak run after returning from a 19-week break and gets cheekpieces fitted for the first time. If these have the desired effect, he should be a big runner here.

SAVVY SMART finished second first time out over 1300M, 0.8L behind the winner, but he had nothing go his way that day. He jumped awkwardly, overraced in the early and middle stages, came four wide into the home straight and finally, hung in down the stretch. He has not drawn much better in gate ten, but he would have come on with that run under his belt.

AIR BENTLEY produced a powerful finish to end up in fourth place last time out over 1500M, 5.3L back from the victor and the form of that race has stood up well with two runners out of that contest subsequently winning. He is drawn one inside the latter and will have his peak run after returning from a 25-week absence. The gelding should be included in all bets.

Race 7

BALLON BLEU has consistent formlines to her name, finishing fourth last time out over seven furlongs, one and a half lengths behind the winner, but that was at a stronger center and she jumped awkwardly and came four wide into the home straight. She will have to overcome a wide draw fifteen, but nevertheless, she should turn in another honest performance today.

QUEEN ASTRID was bumped at the start and did not get the clearest of passages in the home straight when finishing fifth last time out over seven furlongs, 1.7L adrift of the winner. She gets draw seven and with better luck in running, she should get a blow-in here.

SERENE NIC has only had the two runs to date and showed the expected improvement to finish third last time out over seven furlongs, 0.7L behind the winner. She raced three wide without cover, but still battled all the way down to the wire. From draw five, she should not be easily dismissed. Again, there is an unraced runner in the field, so keep an eye on the betting markets.
