Race 4

HASTEN DELIGHT won on debut over six furlongs and then finished third over the same sprint distance, 1.2L behind the winner and the form of that race has been franked. He does return from a 17 week rest, but he has finished third in his two barrier trials to showcase his well-being. The gelding jumps from gate seven and is taken to be the best bet on the day’s card.

TAKE THE KITTY won his maiden race last time out over 1100M by one and a half lengths at the third time of asking. He was returning from a 33 week spell that day and despite racing three wide without cover, he delivered a powerful finish over the closing stage. He faces a wide draw fourteen, but he should be doing his best work late.

HEY LITTLE SISTER is a four year old filly taking on the boys and the stable companion to the top choice. She is seldom far off the action, finishing fifth last time out over 1100M, just under three and a half lengths back from the winner, but she came four wide approaching the home turn that day. She will have to negotiate draw twelve, but she should use her early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy. She will also get a set of blinkers fitted for the first time and if these have the desired effect, she should be a big runner here and makes a solid back-up for the yard.

Race 5

There are four unraced runners in the field, so as is always the case in these types of races, a keen eye should be kept on the betting markets to get some indication as to whether any of the connections believe that they can win first time out. Any betting support for a runner or runners should be respected. Of the raced runners, MARLEEDOONE may well prove to be the best. She is a five year old mare taking on males, but she has finished second in her last two starts, the latest over six furlongs, beaten just a short-head. Those runs were both for her new stable and she has won a subsequent barrier trial. She will have to deal with a wide gate eleven, but she has her peak run after returning from a 24 week break and will be hoping to go one better today.

ENTERPRISE LEGEND has cracked pole position and put his disappointing penultimate run over five furlongs behind him when finishing second last time out over 1100M, one and a half lengths back from the victor. That was his first outing for his new yard and he did overrace in the early and middle stages, before hanging out down the home straight.

WISH I HAD is a three year old filly who has only had the two runs to date, finishing third over five furlongs on debut and then eighth next time out when stepping up to six furlongs, just under eight lengths adrift of the winner and was immediately rested for 28 weeks. She returns here after finishing second in her only barrier trial and whist draw wideish in gate seven, on the plus side, she will get 2kgs taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice.

Race 6

The day’s value bet, MAC MONTY showed marked improvement to finish third last time out over seven furlongs, just a length behind the winner. He finished strongly in that event and from draw ten, he is likely to be dropped out of it in the early stages and then start to pick off the front runners over the latter part of the race. He will have 2kgs removed from his allocated weight courtesy of his claiming apprentice.

SHESABOMB is a three year old filly taking on boys, but she lost a length at the start and did not get the clearest of passages in the home straight when ending up in third place in her latest outing over seven furlongs, just a neck behind the victor. She has her peak run for her new trainer after a thirty week spell and is sure to put her pole position to good use.

SIR RANDOLPH finished fifth first time out over six furlongs and then overraced in the early stages and was hampered at the six furlong pole when ending up in sixth spot next time out over seven furlongs. He is the stable companion to the latter and whilst facing a wide draw fifteen, he is a speedy sort who should be able to work his way across without using up too much gas and represents a firm backup for the powerful Annabel Neasham yard.

Race 7

TAKE THE KITTY won his maiden race by one and a half lengths last time out over 1100M when returning from a 33 week absence. The gelding raced three wide without cover in that contest, but was still able to find a strong finish over the latter stages. He has pulled draw seven and looks to be the one to side with here.

GOOD GIRL is a three year old filly taking on males, but she raced up with the pace and then stayed on well to end up in fourth spot last time out over five furlongs, just over four lengths adrift of the winner. She will have to deal with a wide gate ten, but on that last effort, the extra ground on offer here should be to her liking.

ROMAN REBEL won over six furlongs three runs back, finished fifth in his penultimate start also over 1200M and then sixth in his latest outing over 1300M, 1.3L behind the winner, but he overraced in the early stages and was bumped at the 20M mark. He is drawn the widest of them all in gate eighteen, but nevertheless, he should be included in all bets.
