Race 5

Two 4-year-old fillies and a 5-year-old mare could fight out the finish to this race and complete the trifecta, but the day’s value bet, FULL COMMITMENT is taken to lead the field home. She followed up her penultimate run victory over 1400M with a third-place finish next time out over the same trip, 3.8L back from the winner. She raced just behind the leaders that day and then stayed on well over the closing stages. The filly has a wide draw ten, she should be doing her best work late.

HULU also won her penultimate start over 1400M and then finished second next time out over 1200M, one and a half lengths behind the winner, when having her first run for her new trainer and returning from a 30-week break. She chased hard that day and finished fourth in a subsequent barrier trial. From her kinder draw three, she should be right up there when they hit the line.

TURBO CHARGED has cracked pole position and won her last start over 1200M, albeit by just a short-head. She jumped awkwardly that day, finding herself towards the rear of the field, but delivered a powerful finish from some way back to get up in the shadow of the post. The mare returns from a 33-week rest, but has three barrier trials, finishing fourth in the latest to prove her well-being.

Race 6

LIFE’S A PARTY is a 6-year-old mare taking on the boys, but she has posted two solid last runs, the latest when second over 11100M, two and a half lengths behind the winner. She raced wide throughout that day, before staying on well over the closing stages and the form of that race has been franked. She will be having her peak run after returning from a 22-week break. From gate five, she looks to be the one to side with here.

CYCLONE RUPERT won his penultimate start over 1200M and then lost a length at the start when ending up in fourth spot next time out over 1100M, just under three lengths back from the winner. The form of that race has been franked and from gate seven, he should be right up there when they hit the line.

DEEP ROUGE is a 7-year-old mare who won over 1200M three runs back, finished fourth in her penultimate start over 1000M and then sixth in her latest outing over 1200M, just over five lengths adrift of the winner, but it should be noted that she overraced in the middle stages in that event. The form of that race has however stood up well with two runners out of that contest subsequently winning and from her handy draw four and with 2kgs taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice, she should be included in all bets.

Race 7

TAPA KICK boasts a record of nine runs for two wins, four seconds and two third-place finishes. He won over 1500M three runs back, finished second in his penultimate start over 1600M and then third in his latest outing over 1400M, four and a half lengths behind the winner, but he had to be eased at the 1200M mark, so he had his excuse. He then battled all the way down to the wire and from his useful draw two, he will be hoping to chalk up his third career win and is taken to be the best bet on the day’s card.

SEBILLA is a 4-year-old filly taking on males, but she goes for her hat-trick after two victories over 1600M, the latest by 1.8L. She went from jump to wire that day and as she is drawn the widest of them all in gate eleven, she is likely to attempt similar frontrunning tactics today.

INVINCIBLE RED also won his last start over 1600M, but in his case by a half-length. He delivered a powerful finish that day to win going away and from his cosy draw four, he should be involved in the finish.

Race 8

LAST FRONTIER has his hat-trick run after two wins over 1200m, the latest by a short-head. He lost a length at the start on that occasion, but came with a powerful finish to claim a well-timed win. The gelding returns from a 24-week break, but has had two barrier trials, finishing third in the latest and whilst drawn wide in gate ten, the trio is very much on the cards.

A 5-year-old mare and a 4-year-old filly could chase him home, with the slight preference going to SOARING PHOENIX who has consistent formlines to her name and followed up her penultimate run victory over 1000M with an eighth-place finish next time out over the same sprint trip, three lengths back from the winner, but she jumped awkwardly that day and had to be steadied off the heels of another runner at the 900M mark and then did not get the clearest of passages in the home straight. She, on the other hand, has a useful draw three and she could complete the exacta.

CRIMSON BONNET was returning from a 19-week rest and had to weave her way through traffic in the home straight and then had to be eased at the 50M pole when finishing third last time out over 1000M, just under a length back from the winner. The filly will have 2kgs removed from her allocated weight courtesy of her claiming apprentice and she is sure to put her pole position to good use.
