Race 4

ASVA had his consistency rewarded with his maiden victory last time out over seven furlongs, albeit by just a neck. He did lose a length at the start that day and then had to weave his way through traffic in the home straight, so the win was full of merit. He takes on stronger here and will have to negotiate draw 12, but he should be doing his best work late and is taken to be the value bet on the day’s card.

DECIMUS has consistent formlines to his name and followed up his penultimate run victory over a mile with a second-place finish next time out over 1500M, just a half-length back from the winner. He raced just behind the leaders that day and then finished off his race well, only to just fail to catch the winner. He is drawn one inside the top choice, but he should use his early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy.

TWO AYE is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys and she also won her penultimate run, but in her case over 1500M and then finished third next time out over the same journey, just a length back from the victor. She was slow away on that occasion and came wide into the home straight, but finished strongly over the closing stages. She will have to deal with a wide draw nine, but she should not be lightly ignored in this line-up.

Race 5

Two 4yr old and a 3yr old filly could fight out the finish to this race and complete the trifecta, but LOVERO is taken to lead the pack home. She is seldom far off the action, finishing second last time out over 1100M, just a head back from the winner, but she did not get the clearest of passages in the home straight that day, only seeing daylight too late before finishing well and so could be considered an unlucky loser. She gets a useful draw two and should turn in another honest performance today.

MOUNT WARNING has finished second in her last two runs, the latest over 1100M, just a length back from the winner. She struck the front at the entrance to the home straight and was only run out of it very late. She jumps from gate seven and should be right up there when they hit the line.

STYLISH PEDRILLE followed up her penultimate run victory over five furlongs with a fifth-place finish next time out over the same c&d, two and a half lengths back from the winner, but she was slow away in that event and hampered shortly after the start, before battling all the way down to the wire. She has pulled a cosy draw three and should be included in all bets.

Race 6

COOL LAD has consistent formlines to his credit, winning his last start over 1300M by a neck, after delivering a powerful finish over the latter stages. He has a wideish draw eight, but he will be hoping to chalk up his fourth career win today.

RAHNI FACTOR is a 5yr old mare taking on males, but she won her penultimate run over six furlongs and then tried to go from jump to wire next time out, ending up in second place over the same sprint trip, one length off the winner. She was only reeled in late in that event and from her wide draw nine, she is likely to attempt similar tactics today.

NEVER FAILS has cracked pole position and had solid form prior to finishing tenth last time out over six furlongs, 18.2L adrift of the winner, but it should be noted that his jockey reported that he made an unusual respiratory noise and that he had not persevered with his ride, so that effort is best ignored. He returns from a 20-week break, but he has had the benefit of three barrier trials to prove his well-being and will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways here.

Race 7

OPITO BALLERINA is a 3yr old filly taking on boys. She won her penultimate start over six furlongs and then finished fourth next time out over the same distance, two and a half lengths behind the winner. She overraced just behind the leaders that day, but still managed to stay on well over the closing stages. She has a handy draw two and will have the services of a 3kgs claiming apprentice.
CREAM RISES finished a disappointing tenth last time out over a mile, 4.3L back from the winner, but he gets the blinkers removed for the first time and if this move has the desired effect, he should be a big runner here, notwithstanding drawn wide in gate 12.

SILK TIE is drawn one inside the latter and is a 4yr old filly who stayed on well from some way back when finishing eighth last time out over 1100M, four and a half lengths behind the winner. The form of that race has been franked and she should be involved in the finish.
