Race 5

TIME QUEST has consistent formlines to his name and jumped awkwardly before racing three wide without cover and was hampered at the 800M mark when finishing third last time out over seven furlongs, just over a half-length behind the winner. He has his peak run after returning from a 29-week break and from a handy draw two, he should turn in another honest performance today.

ZONDEE showed solid improvement to win his last start over 1500M by 1.3L. He jumped awkwardly, but finished strongly in that event and if he can confirm that effort, he should be a big runner here, jumping from one gate outside the top pick.

RUSSIAN RONI in turn is drawn one outside the latter and has finished closer to the winner in each of his last three starts, the latest when second over seven furlongs, just a short-head behind the winner. The gelding was hampered at the start, but recovered quickly to race just behind the leaders, before just failing to run down the winner. He will have 2kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice and should be included in all bets.

Race 6

BALLROOM BELLA is a 3-year-old filly taking on the boys, but she is seldom far off the action, finishing third last time out over 1100M, just 0.8L back from the winner. She raced three wide throughout that event but did finish off her race well. The filly has her peak run for her new trainer after returning from a 16-week rest and from gate five, she will be looking to secure her third career victory today.

GOLD REVOLVER has won two of his last three starts and went from jump to wire to secure his last victory over 1100M by a length and has finished second in a subsequent barrier trial. He has pulled a useful draw three and will have 2kgs removed from his allocated weight courtesy of his claiming apprentice. He is likely to attempt similar frontrunning tactics today and could prove difficult to reel in over the closing stages.

ABLE WILLIE showed marked improvement to win his last start over six furlongs by a half-length when returning from a 19-week break. He lost a length at the start and was then forced to come the widest of them all into the home straight, but he struck the front at the 200M pole and then held off the chasing pack in the dash down to the wire. The gelding is drawn one outside the latter and should not be easily overlooked.

Race 7

The day’s value bet, COUNTYOURBLESSINGS has won two of her last three outings, the latest over six furlongs by 2.3L and has finished fourth in a subsequent barrier trial. She jumped awkwardly that day but struck the front at the 150M mark to win going away and despite facing a wide draw nine, she looks to be the one to side with here.

ADMONISH missed out on her hat-trick after two victories over six furlongs when finishing fourth last time out over five furlongs, 2.2L behind the winner. She was returning from a 21-week spell that day but stayed on well over the latter stages and whilst drawn wideish in gate eight, she should be right up there when they hit the line.

SOUTHERN CHILLI finished second last time out over six furlongs, just a half-length off the winner, but she was returning from a 21-week spell, and it should be noted that she jumped awkwardly that day, overraced in the early stages and had to be eased off the heels of another runner at the 600m mark, before coming four wide into the home straight. She nevertheless battled all the way down to the wire and from a handy draw four, she could complete the trifecta.

Race 8

Two 3-year-old fillies could fight out the finish to this race and complete the exacta, but the day’s best bet, CITY OF LIGHTS is taken to lead the field home. She followed up her penultimate run victory over 1500M with a ninth place finish next time out over a mile, 2.2L back from the winner, but she had nothing go her way that day. She jumped awkwardly bumping another runner, who had to be held up between the 400M and 200M mark, before finishing off her race well and the form of that race has been franked. She will be having her peak run after returning from a 15-week rest and from a useful draw two, she could prove hard to topple.

AWESOME WONDER had her consistency rewarded with a 1.8L victory last time out over twelve furlongs and was immediately rested for 31 weeks. She returns here after having had three barrier trials and the engagement of champion jockey James McDonald catches the eye. She has pulled draw seven and could emerge as the biggest danger to the top choice.

INVINCIBLE LEGEND won over a mile three runs back, finished a disappointing eleventh in his penultimate start over 1900M and then fifth in his latest outing back over what appears to be a more suitable mile journey, 1.7L behind the winner. The gelding had to be held up between the 400M and 200M mark that day and from draw five and with the services of a 2kg claiming apprentice, he should be involved in the finish.
