RATSO RIZZO was always going to take to this surface after his game performances on Greyville’s equivalent track and the four-year old finished 2nd best on local debut over further three weeks ago. He was returning from an 11 week absence though and will prefer the drop to the mile. The natural frontrunner should enjoy a soft lead in this event and he can go one better.

DATA LINK has improved with each local showing and she ran on late for 3rd over this c & d recently despite racing wide from her poor draw. She has just over two lengths to find on the consistent but costly to follow MAMBA MANIA but has more room for improvement and could be an entirely different proposition from the best draw. Her jockey ended a barren spell with a victory on this course on Monday.

QUID RIDES had his best recent performance over this c & d when he flew late, only to be denied victory by the narrowest margin in his penultimate showing. He had the former Cape resident DESERT WISDOM half a length adrift of him that day and is 0.5kg better off. The top selection got going late when 4th behind SEATTLE SWING and a few others subsequently but that was over slightly shorter. He should be highly competitive today and will enjoy the likely decent tempo.

The polytrack champion GOGETTHESHERIFF bounced back to best when he produced his customary powerful burst to beat all but one of today’s rivals over this c & d six weeks ago. The veteran gelding is once again weighted to defeat the five rivals and he has strong claims of notching up his tenth victory on this track from just sixteen starts. The son of Go Deputy will be cherry-ripe & the likely blistering pace suits him perfectly.

The grey colt SCRIBO is better treated on today’s handicap terms and his recent formline was boosted when the 4th placed entrant Plano easily won his subsequent outing on Monday. This four-year old often gets going late on this track so his decent barrier position will be a major asset. He can upset his more fancied rivals.
