The daughter of Vercingetorix returns from a 19-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. She will love the rise to 1200m and if suited to the polytrack, she should be the horse to beat.

LAST STORM was not disgraced when finishing fifth against winners over 1200m on the turf last time. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. He is having his first run for the Sharon Kotzen stable. The son of Global View returns to Maiden Company and if suited to the polytrack, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

HEATHCLIFF followed up his maiden victory with a good second-place finish over this C&D. He was reported to be coughing that day which makes the effort that much more encouraging. He has cracked a good draw of four and if not too far out of his ground turning for home, he may be the one to beat.

SOWETO ROSE ran a good race when third in his last start over 1300m on this course. He finished 3.75 lengths behind COOL RUNNINGS in his penultimate effort. He is 5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Soft Falling Rain is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D and will be looking to keep that record intact.
