The Tienie Prinsloo yard holds a very strong hand in this small field and the best weighted runner, PONTEDERA looks set to continue his winning ways. He completed an impressive hat-trick of wins when fighting off his stablemate LATINO’S JET over nine furlongs last time out and could easily enjoy the run of the race today. The Judpot gelding captured a c & d feature at his penultimate effort and he can confirm the form despite being 1.5kgs in arrears with the runner-up.
Race 3: BEEZ BROTHER(4)
Jockey: Herholdt F – Trainer: Von Willingh S
This is another exciting Pinnacle Stakes event but this time for some quality sprinters who will ensure a thrilling finish. The formline to follow could be the c & d feature run behind Varbration on the 08/08. The ultra-consistent five furlong specialist BEEZ BROTHER ran out of his skin when he went down under one length behind the victor that day and he still holds many of today’s rivals safe, despite his subsequent hefty penalty. He clearly didn’t enjoy six furlongs from a poor draw last time out and that run is best ignored. He will be a major force in this line-up.
Race 4: IMPERIAL PARTY(8)

The three-year old IMPERIAL PARTY loves racing at this venue and she finished runner-up in all three of her c & d performances, last season. She had two poor subsequent Highveld efforts but drops to a more suitable class of opposition and can bounce back to form.
Race 8: CAPE GREY(1)
Jockey: Khumalo S – Trainer: Human L J
CAPE GREY quickly got back to form when she ran on strongly for a close 3rd in a competitive line-up over this c & d, last Monday. She tried hard when going down under half a length to the speedy MATADORAS EL TOROS over this c & d three runs back but the top weight is now 2kgs better off with her conqueror. Furthermore, Khumalo knows her really well and she could extract revenge on the latter. Speaking of that rival, she had a decent last run over an extra furlong and will be a serious threat back over this minimum distance.

There could be a lack of a strong gallop in this competitive field and the likely pacesetters SONG JET and CROKE PARK can dominate the outcome. The former has come well since relocating to this province and he wasn’t disgraced after things didn’t go his way over the c & d last Monday. It is a major worry that he was reportedly lame but his conditioner races him a week later, suggesting that all is well with the gelding. Andrew Fortune partnered the five-year old to good effect prior to that last run.
