The Goldings formline on 30/04 on the grass at Scottsville should hold up well here and SPUN OUT can go one better. He made the expected return to form when going down narrowly in that last event but the bump at a crucial stage may have cost him victory. It comes as little surprise that Delpech retains the ride on the imported gelding’s peak showing. He has certainly improved since his poor solitary effort on this surface and can set the record straight today.
Race 6: ALL HONESTY(1)
Jockey: Warren KENNEDY – Trainer: Kumaran NAIDOO
ALL HONESTY has found good form since being equipped with blinkers but she could have been given a better ride when only managing a weak 3rd over a mile on the grass last month. Her solid penultimate run proves her ability on the polytrack and the daughter of Elusive Fort could resort to successful frontrunning tactics in this field. Her pedigree indicates that she will have no issues with the ten furlongs and she could enjoy a soft lead from the best draw.
Race 7: ELUSIVE SILVA(7)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Justin SNAITH
The Justin Snaith yard holds a very strong hand in this Grade 2 contest and the Silvano gelding, ELUSIVE SILVA should be all the rage in the betting market. He has already found heaps of betting support on the July boards after his smashing seasonal debut on this course in a listed feature over nine furlongs four weeks ago. Last season’s Winter Derby victor obviously suffered a setback which kept him out of action for 43 weeks but he showed his brilliance in that recent win in effortless fashion. The four-year old chestnut should be much fitter and is extremely well handicapped tonight.
Race 8: SECRET CAPTAIN(6)
SECRET CAPTAIN produced the run of his career when he chased home the top class miler Janoobi on this course a fortnight ago. He failed by almost two lengths at the wire that day but had some highly rated types behind him & quite interestingly his time was far superior than today’s best weighted entrant LADY OF THE HOUSE who campaigned over the c & d a mere 35 minutes earlier. The grey colt has much to do at the weights but is expected to love every bit of the extra furlong and he still has lots of improvement to come.

OSTENTATION has continued her solid form since returning from a long layoff and she could enjoy being given the famous ‘Khumalo drive’ over her most successful c & d. She just lacked extra late in stronger company recently but is better drawn today and will prefer facing these rivals.
