The juveniles take centre stage in this opening contest and with none of the entrants having raced around the turn, things should be really interesting. That said, the top selection PLAY ANOTHER TUNE produced an exciting debut over 800m at Scottsville earlier this month and he should make that experience count. The son of Noble Tune showed pace and should have finished even closer but for being cramped at a crucial stage. He recovered shortly thereafter and ran on smartly at the finish.

HERO QUEST stays very well and the improving son of Ideal World targets a local hat-trick of wins from as many starts today. He deservedly picked up a five pound penalty for his game recent victory over a slightly shorter trip on this course and blinkers has done the trick for the bay gelding who now has his peak showing.

The daughter of Seventh Rock, ROCKING RUBY was quietly fancied when she produced a highly promising debut over this c & d three weeks ago. The bay filly was slow into stride but she ran on strongly for a close 2nd and she had the speedy Kinsky’s Crusade (runs in prior event) a length further adrift. The three-year old would have come on appreciably from the experience and she should make natural improve- ment. She will enjoy the likely blistering speed.

BYLINE made the expected improvement second time out over this c & d where she should have finished closer but for some traffic issues at a crucial stage. That formline has worked out well with the runner-up Myelisha and 3rd placed entrant Flight Club winning subsequently. This daughter of Byword would have strengthened during the short six week absence and she should continue to progress. She gets the services of top jockey Marcus and she jumps from a decent barrier position.

He has a bit to find with PRINCE OF PROMISE on their clash behind subsequent winner Iron Wolf over this c & d in his penultimate start but did race wide that day and can reduce the deficit here.
