He will strip a much fitter horse and it is encouraging that De Sousa has kept faith in the ride. RAINBOW LIGHT has cracked pole and should be cherry-ripe having his third run after a rest. He was beaten just under two lengths last time and is capable of recording his second career victory.

LUCKY ARCHANGEL placed behind subsequent winner Sweet Encounter last time out. He comes in at the top of the weights and the booking of Purton to ride suggests he is fit enough to win now. SPICY GRILL produced a fair comeback run when beaten 3.5 lengths by Gallant Waking. He has cracked pole, and all three of his victories have come on this course.

GOLD GOLD BABY won easier than the margin suggests over this C&D last time out. He takes a rise in class but the manner in which he drew off in the closing stages suggests he can make it quick back-to-back wins. PRETTY QUEEN PRAWN ran on strongly last time to win and if overcoming the wide draw can challenge the top selection.

HERO STAR was a beaten favourite last time behind Gallant Waking. He set the pace on that occasion and was reeled in very late. He is likely to adopt similar tactics and may be difficult to peg back at the wire. ABOVE ALL was beaten just over a length by Sight Hero in his comeback run. He looks nicely handicapped and should be one of the leading contenders.

AMIGOS GIGGLE has been narrowly beaten in his last two starts and moved up nicely last time when outrun late by Noble Steed. He shoulders a handy galloping weight and will be looking to make amends. AMAZING BOY was beaten just under a length by Seaweed Fortune last time. He won his penultimate start over this C&D and has strong claims.

EXCELLENT PEERS got going too late when beaten by Yo Beauty over this C&D last time. He will strip much fitter and looks like one of the better bets on the card. STORMTROUPER and IGNITING finished next to each other last time when beaten by Winning Icey. The pair meet on similar weight terms, and there shouldn’t be too much between them when they hit the line.

GIFT OF LIFELINE was beaten half a length by THE ANOMALY last time out. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights and definitely represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. SUPER MISSION and RISING FROM ASHES both ran a fair race behind Street Scream last time. The pair meet on identical weight terms and are both strong contenders.

DROPS OF GOD went close in his penultimate start over this C&D. He is nicely handicapped in the lucky last and may be able to get first run from his neat draw. YO BEAUTY was a narrow winner last time, and it will be intriguing to see if Excellent Peers (Race 6) can boost the form line. GALLANT WAKING was given a peach of a ride by Ho in his latest victory. He is taking on stronger but could be one to fill the trifecta spot.
