HARMONY FIRE is nicely weighted with apprentice Wong aboard. He finished half a length behind BEAUTY WAVES last time and definitely represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. HEROIC MASTER is competitive in Class 3 and he should be doing his best work in the closing stages of this opening contest.

13:10 – Race 2 | Class 5 | 1800m

Selections: 7/10/11

LOYAL AMBITION is better than his below-par last effort. He will enjoy the drop back to 1800m and should be involved in the outcome of this contest. FOXHUNTER WAY finished 2.5 lengths behind the winner in his last start. He comes in with a light weight and apprentice Matthew Poon will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

13:40 – Race 3 | Class 5 | 1200m

Selections: 7/8/9

SWEET DIAMOND finished 2.8 lengths behind Super Axiom last time. He is nicely handicapped and should give another good account of himself. WIND SPEEDER finished 3.8 lengths behind VIVA A LA last time. He is 3.5kgs better off at the weights and there shouldn’t be too much separating them in the run down to the line.

14:10 – Race 4 | Class 4 | 1000m

Selections: 9/5/7

LEAN MASTER is better than his below-par last effort. He won his penultimate start on this course and a repeat of that effort should see him finish in the money. SERGEANT PEPPER ran on the All-Weather track last time and will appreciate racing back on turf. He could be one to fill the exacta spot.

14:40 – Race 5 | Class 2 | 1000m

Selections: 9/3/6

HUMBLE STAR is returning from a setback. He is loaded with ability and if not in need of the run, he can achieve the hat-trick. CARROLL STREET finished 2.2 lengths behind NERVOUS WITNESS last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights and there shouldn’t be too much separating them at the business end.

15:10 – Race 6 | Class 4 | 1650m

Selections: 10/4/2

CAN’T GO WONG followed up his recent win with a fair effort behind Californiatotality. He has cracked a neat draw and looks one of the better bets on the card. PEGASUS GENERAL has decent form lines to his credit. He is drawn pole and can give the top selection a good run for his money.

15:45 – Race 7 | Class 4 | 1200m

Selections: 8/2/12

WINNING HEART’S last three starts on this course have been good. Brenton Avdulla has picked up the ride and the combination merit healthy respect. OUR LUCKY GLORY won well in his last start. He will have to shoulder top weight this time around but is capable of making it quick back-to-back wins.

16:15 – Race 8 | Class 4 | 1200m

Selections: 8/10/6

HERCULES finished off his race nicely under apprentice Chung last time. He has featured prominently on this course throughout the season and is a tentative first selection. SO AWESOME finished a couple of lengths behind Our Lucky Glory last time and it will be interesting to see if the form line is given a boost in Race 7. The South African-bred MR VALIANT must be included in quartets.

16:50 – Race 9 | Class 3 | 1800m

Selections: 3/4/9

NOBLE PURSUIT finished just in front of EIGHTEEN PALMS last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms and he may be the one to side with in the lucky last. FLAMINGO TRILLION is suited to racing on a wet track and there is rain predicted over the weekend. BERLIN TANGO is next in line.
