VIVA A LA finished a neck behind GENERAL ACE last time. He is slightly better off at the weights and there shouldn’t be too much separating the pair in the run down to the line. RATTAN WORLD carries top weight but he has cracked pole and has the form to win a race of this nature.

13:10 – Race 2 | Class 5 | 1650m

Selections: 4/3/2

BIG TWO finished alongside STORMTROUPER in his last start. The pair meet on similar weight terms and are both genuine contenders in this line-up. MEDIC ELITE ran on powerfully to win his last start. He remains in Class 5 and should give another good account of himself.

13:40 – Race 3 | Class 4 | 1800m

Selections: 10/4/3

The grey KYRUS UNICORN finished a neck behind SERANGOON in his last outing. He is 2kgs better off at the weights and definitely represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. AMAZING TEENS has interestingly finished second in both attempts at Happy Valley and must be included in all bets.

14:10 – Race 4 | Class 3 | 1200m

Selections: 4/6/1

LUCKY ARCHANGEL is a three-time course and distance winner this season and will have plenty of followers. ACT OF FAITH has entered the frame in his last two runs. He comes in with a handy galloping weight and can give the top selection a good run for his money. HARMONY N BLESSED is next best.

14.40 – Race 5 | Class 3 | 1650m

Selections: 4/7/3

QUANTAM PATCH is better than his below-par last effort over seven furlongs. He is back over a mile and should be doing his best work in the closing stages. RED HARE KING has consistent recent form lines to his credit. He was beaten the narrowest of margins last time and will be looking to make amends.

15:10 – Race 6 | Class 4 | 1200m

Selections: 9/8/5

SUPER EAGLE was most deserving of a victory and was finally rewarded for consistency last time. He in a good space and drawn nicely in barrier 3. The John Size-trained COUNTRY DANCER has shown good improvement in his last two starts and could be one to fill the exacta spot.

15:45 – Race 7 | Class 3 | 1200m

Selections: 1/9/8

WATCH BUDDY is coming off two narrow victories over this course and distance. He is in superb form and looks one of the better bets on the card. GOLDEN LONG finished second behind Super Eagle in his last run and it will be intriguing to see if the form line is given a boost in Race 6. HAPPY TRIO was luckless in the straight last time and can improve on that effort.

16:15 – Race 8 | Class 4 | 1650m

Selections: 3/8/7

SURE JOYFUL is holding form well. His first career win came under Hugh Bowman and the combination merit healthy respect. STRONGEST BOY can mix his form but he stayed on positively last time and a repeat of that effort should see him finish in the money. STARSHIP EIGHTY followed up his recent win well and the only obvious concern is his record at Happy Valley.

16:50 – Race 9 | Class 4 | 1200m

Selections: 3/10/7

LYRICAL MOTION finished just under a length behind the winner in his last start. He is racing well at the moment and should make his presence felt in the lucky last. JOYFUL LIFE showed improvement in his first run at Happy Valley and he may be ready to pick up his first career win. FLYING PHANTOM is lightly raced and has scope for improvement in this field.
