International Racing: 6 September 2020 – Sha Tin

FORTUNE PATROL ran on from far back last time when narrowly defeated at the wire. He is drawn wide but the way he races suggests that he will be coming from off the pace and he should be doing his best work late. GREAT SMART is better than his last effort suggests. He was an impressive winner under Chadwick in June and he can go close if repeating that type of effort. JOY MASTER was not disgraced in his last outing and if he can put his best foot forward then he should be right there in the run down to the finish. 

ADONIS showed good guts and determination last time out under Teetan. He moved up strongly on that occasion to only be outrun in latter stages. He enjoys a good pace and should be picking off the frontrunners in the run down to the post. FOX CHEUNGER narrowly failed last time out distance and with Magic Moreira in the irons, he looks the biggest threat to the top selection. JIMSON THE DRAGON is an inconsistent sort but if he can recapture his best form then he can run into the money.  

WINSTON’S LAD and Vincent Ho are in a rich vein of form. The pair hit the front at the 150m mark last time out and the manner in which he finished his race off was enough to suggest that he can reel off the hat-trick. SUPER RED DRAGON ran on steadily last time out but the form of his penultimate run catches the eye. He had no luck in running on that occasion and just failed at the wire. If repeating that type of effort then he may be able to trouble the top selection. GOLDEN MISSION hasn’t finished too far off the winner in his last three outings and he definitely has the form to run into the money.   

BRIGHT KID has finished strongly under Zac Purton in his last three outings. He got cramped for room in his penultimate run and had to check in the straight last time out which ultimately cost him the race on both of those occasions. With better luck in running, he looks the best bet on today’s card. MORE THAN ENOUGH is a progressive sort and he impressed in his latest triumph. He was cramped for room at the 250m mark and also brushed another horse at the 200m mark. The manner in which he ran on in the final furlong suggests that he can make it back-to-back wins. HAPPY TANGO had no luck in running last time out. It is encouraging that Karis Teetan has kept faith in the ride and the pair could find themselves threatening the top selection.  

LEAP OF FAITH was given a peach of a ride under Magic Moreira last time out despite jumping awkwardly out of the starting stalls. He is drawn wide but he will get all the necessary assistance from the saddle and will benefit from a decent pace in the race. KELMIMI WINS got the upper hand late last time out when he was a narrow winner over this distance. He is likely to settle in just behind the frontrunners and will be looking to do his best work in the final furlong. SUMSTREETSUMWHERE has performed well in his last two outings under Shinn and has the form to be right there at the finish. 

PRINCE OF GEMS has his first run this year. He likes to dictate matters and if he returns fit then he may able to have things his own way in front. SUPER WINNER is another pacemaker and the speed in this race is likely to be blistering. He overraced last time out and was found to have nasal discharge post-race. If repeating the form of his penultimate run then he will be difficult to peg back in the closing stages. DUBLIN STAR is a consistent sort that is always thereabouts and he has the form to run into the money again. 

CHANCHENG PRINCE and Magic Moreira are in search of a hat-trick of wins. He has gone from gun to tape in both of those outings which is very impressive and should adopt similar tactics in this contest. METRO WARRIOR was only outrun in the latter stages of his penultimate start with Zac Purton in the saddle. If repeating that type of effort then he will be able to pose a threat to the top selection. WAR OF COURAGE performs admirably with Chad Schoefield in the saddle. The break may have done him the world of good and he can find a swift return to form in this contest.

 

COMPUTER PATCH hasn’t raced since April which is a slight concern but the manner in which he won his last start was encouraging. He hit the front at the 350m mark on that occasion and didn’t find a rival that could match him. If he returns to the races fit then he should be one of the leading contenders in this contest. CHAMPION’S WAY is another one that returns from a break. He disappointed last time out but if reproducing his prior form then he can run into the money. PERFECT MATCH bled last time out which is concerning but he is a game pacesetter that may be allowed to have his own way in front and must be considered. 

ALCARI has finished well over this distance in his last two outings under Matthew Poon. He jumps from an inside barrier and represents decent each-way value for racing pundits. EXCELLENT PROPOSAL showed courage on debut when he challenged strongly all the way to the post. He should appreciate the extra furlong on offer and can make amends for that narrow defeat. Also, it is encouraging that Magic Moreira has kept faith in the ride. GIFT OF LIFELINE hit the rail in his last start but still got up where it matters most. He rises in class but may be up to the task at hand and must be considered. 

SUPER WEALTHY has produced four good runs for jockey Alexis Badel. He has not raced since March but is loaded with ability and it will be no surprise to see him make a statement in his return to the races. MONGOLIAN KING’S last win came under Teetan. He has not finished too far off the winner in all outings since that last triumph and he should be doing his best work late in this contest. BEAUTY APPLAUSE set a decent pace last time out and was only caught in the shadow of the post. He may adopt similar tactics this afternoon and may be difficult to peg back this time around.
