Race 4
BIG SUR had to be checked at the 300M last time out when finishing fifth over eleven furlongs and should have finished closer to the winner as a result. He is drawn out at gate ten, but with better luck in running today, he looks to be the value in the race. CRACKSMAN finished strongly to win his last outing over nine furlongs and seems likely to enjoy going over the extra ground. He is drawn one inside the top choice and could be his biggest danger. HEIR TO THE THRONE put in a solid effort when finishing fourth last time out over this c&d. He will have 2kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice to aid his cause.

Race 6
LAKE’S FOLLY is seldom too far off the action and was staying on well when finishing second last time out over this distance. He is drawn out at gate ten, but he should be right up there when they hit the line and is taken to be the best bet on today’s card. REINE HAPPY has finished second in his last two outings over this trip and will be hoping to go one better here. He has a wide draw of fifteen to overcome, but he likes to race up with the pace, so this might not be too big an issue. SABOTAGE has an even worse draw of eighteen, but he has his peak run today and should be involved in the finish.

Race 7
IT’SAYESFROMME has his hat-trick run here after winning his last start over this distance. He finished strongly that day, so he likely to be dropped out of the race early from his seventeen draw and should be picking off the front runners in the closing stages of the contest. STRETTO stayed on well when finishing second last time out over seven furlongs. He was just 1.5L behind the winner that day and on that effort, he should have no problem seeing out the extra distance. REXMONT on the other hand drops in trip from the eleven furlongs of his last outing, but a repeat of his effort three runs back when third over this trip would see him trouble the top two selections. GREGORIAN CHANT is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she has solid recent form to her name and was staying on well when second last time out over seven furlongs. She has a wide draw of fourteen to negotiate, but she should be included in all bets.

Race 8
LA LUCCIOLA is a 3yr old filly taking on males. She returns from a 29 week break and has not had the benefit of a barrier trial, so her fitness will have to be taken on trust, but she won her penultimate start over six furlongs and should be right at home over the shorter trip. Her handy five draw is a plus. AEROVICTORY also won his penultimate start over six furlongs and although finishing sixth last time out over 1100M, he was just 2.4L off the victor. He has gate fifteen to overcome, but he should use his early speed to track across without using up too much energy. PAY YOUR DUES has an even worse eighteen draw, but he is likely to be doing his best work late and should be considered here. NEBARAZ returns from a 19 week break and has also not had a barrier trial. He has however only had the two runs to date and did win over the c&d on debut. If not too much in need of the outing, he should be respected in this line-up.

Race 9
SAPPHIRE CROWN was a narrow winner over 1100M on debut despite having had to be checked at the 800M mark. He fought on well that day and if displaying the same amount of determination here, he may prove difficult to topple. WIND FORCE showed marked improvement in his last outing when finishing second over the c&d, just under a length behind the winner. He jumps from gate six and if he is able to reproduce that last effort, he should be right up there in the mix. RODDANDTODD steps up from the five furlongs of his last start, but he stayed on that day and should appreciate the extra ground on offer here.

Carnarvon

Race 1

NERO CHIN CHIN is seldom far off the action and finished just 0.3L behind the winner in his penultimate run over this c&d. He is drawn wide out at ten, but on the plus side, he will get 3kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice. POPPIES is a 6yr old mare taking on the boys, but she has finished third in her last two outings, the latest over seven furlongs. She takes a step up in trip and will get an even bigger 4kg removed from her allocated weight courtesy of her claiming apprentice. ALWAYS EASY also steps up in distance after finishing fifth last time out over seven furlongs. From his handy two draw, he could well be looking for this greater test of stamina.

Race 3

Four fillies/mares look as if they will dominate the finish to this race and complete the quartet. The narrow top pick goes to BROWSING returns from a lengthy 67 week break and has her first run for her new trainer. She has however put in two solid barrier trial, winning the latest and if fully settled into her new surroundings, she could be the one to side with here based on her prior form. TINKER TAILOR has her first run after an even longer 68 week rest, but she has cracked pole position and the blinkers are removed for today’s outing. If this move has the desired effect, she could prove the biggest danger to the top choice. STILL AWAKE showed good improvement in her last start over six furlongs and should appreciate the drop down to five furlongs. ENACTMENT will be hoping to put her last disappointing effort over six furlongs behind her and bounce back to her previous form.

Race 4

STRIDE OUT won well from gun to wire last time out over five furlongs. He was nearly two lengths ahead of the second horse and may prove difficult to reel in over the closing stages of the race, despite jumping from draw ten. THE CHORISTER had his consistency rewarded with a victory over this c&d last time out. He is drawn one inside the former and could be the immediate threat to the top pick. KNUCKLE DOWN finished third in his latest outing over the c&d, 1.5L behind the winner. He has a wider eleven draw to overcome, but he should be involved in the finish here.

Race 5

LUCKY CHARLIE followed up his penultimate victory over seven furlongs with a second-place finish over the same trip. He starts from gate five and should enjoy going over the extra ground. DIAMONDS FOR ALL has cracked pole position and also steps up from the seven furlongs of his last outing. If taking to the extra journey, he could threaten the top selection. ESPRESSO LASS on the other hand has to negotiate the widest draw of them all. She is a 7yr old mare taking on males, but she was staying on in her last start over seven furlongs and may enjoy going over the mile of today’s contest. RHINO BUSTER showed marked improvement last time out when stepping up to seven furlongs from the six furlong of his previous start and if taking to the additional journey here, he should be right up there in the mix.

Race 6

DANEFIN put over eight lengths between himself and the balance of the field when winning his last outing over seven furlongs. He steps up to a mile today and even though he is drawn eleven out of the twelve runners, he could prove difficult to topple today. COSTA LANTE is a 7yr old mare taking on boys, but she showed good improvement to win last time out over the mile. She has a handy two draw and could represent the biggest threat to the former. TELL ME THIS also showed big improvement to win his last start over seven furlongs, despite being friendless in the betting markets. If he is able to confirm that effort, he should be included in all bets.
