Race 8 No1 JOHNNY KIDD (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: David Probert

Everything is perfect for JOHNNY KIDD who should open his account in this first division of the stayers’ handicap. The gelded son of Australia showed promise when tackling longer trips in 2019, and after going down in a photo on seasonal return at Yarmouth is going to love this similar course with its long home straight, as well as getting an extra quarter mile.

Race 9 No1 CHEZ HANS
Trainer: Paul Nicholls – Jockey: Megan Nicholls

This combination did us a good turn via Oleg the other day and appear to have another big winning chance with CHEZ HANS. A winner over a mile and a half at Compiegne, he’s not set any rivers on fire over jumps for his trainer but this is a different ball game to which he’s shown the knack of getting his head in front.

GOODWOOD BEST BETS MONDAY

Race 2 No1 BRUNEL’S BOY (Nap)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Charles Bishop

BRUNEL’S BOY is iron fit after finishing fourth at 66-1 on his Yarmouth return last week. He seems to have benefitted from that encouraging effort and has the necessary speed to be in his comfort zone cutting back from seven furlongs to six.

Race 4 No1 BASILICATA
Trainer: Mark Johnston – Jockey: Franny Norton

From the favoured rail BASILICATA can deliver on her debut for a stable that has an exemplary record at this track. She is reported to know her job and should know too much for Rosemary And Thyme who is bred along similar lines.

Race 7 No12 TODAY POWER
Trainer: Richard Hannon – Jockey: Silvestre de Sousa

After a tepid start the Hannon stable hot form with a vengeance sending out five winners on Saturday. It augurs well for their runners at their local course and TODAY POWER owes his followers one, having been a beaten favourite on his last three all-weather outings.

KEMPTON PARK BEST BETS MONDAY

Race 3 No7 PRINCE IMPERIAL
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Jim Crowley

This son of Frankel sported a visor when opening his account at Chelmsford in the autumn and has been asked to mix it with good quality horses in his homework. While not a star, he is ready and can give likely favourite Yuri Gagarin plenty to think about.

Race 5 No1 JELLYSTONE (Nap)
Trainer: Ralph Beckett – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

It’s no surprise that connections of JELLYSTONE are trying to strike while the iron’s hot. He could be named the winner a long way out at Yarmouth last week and an6lb pantyhose is unlikely to stem his progress on this switch to Polytrack.

PONTEFRACT BEST BETS MONDAY

Race 2 No4 BOWMAN (Nap)
Trainer: Mark Johnston – Jockey: Joe Fanning

BOWMAN will be razor sharp after his promising placed effort on debut at Lingfield. The Lawman colt is up against generally less experienced foes and can open his account.

Race 6 No1 ANTONIA De VEGA
Trainer: Ralph Beckett – Jockey: Harry Bentley

Black type looks certain to be heading the way of ANTONIA DE VEGA in this Listed race for fillies. She landed a similar contest when returning from a break exactly a year ago and her fitness after 225 days off can be taken on trust.
