Race 4.
A 5yr old mare and two 4yr
old fillies look like they can dominate the finish to this race and complete
the trifecta. ANGOLA MISS
 had to be eased early,
but then recovered well to finish strongly and end up in second place last time
out over 1300M, only a short head behind the winner. She has her peak run here
after returning from a 17 week break and from draw seven, she is taken to be
the value bet on today’s card. IN GREAT NIC stayed on well to
finish third in her last outing over six furlongs. She will have to negotiate a
wide gate twelve, but is likely to be doing her best work late. FAST ‘N’ FORWARD returns
from a 19 week rest, but has had the benefit of two barrier trials. She has her
first run for her new trainer and if fully settled into her new surroundings,
she should be involved in the finish here.

Race 5.
This looks to be a tricky
race and some caution is advised. The tentative top choice goes to WHY WOULDN’T
YOU
who has his first run since a 10 week
absence, but has had a barrier trial to prove his fitness. He improved when
dropping down in distance from 1900M to a mile last time out when finishing
fourth, just over a length behind the winner. He took a bump at the 50M mark
that day and should have finished closer to the victor as a result. He jumps
from a handy gate two and could be the one to side with here. Although FROM NOW is
recorded as finishing eighth last time out, he was just 3.3L off the winner, this
despite being bumped at the 200M mark. From draw four he should be right up there
when they hit the line.
ENRIQUE is drawn one outside the latter and made
late progress on debut over 1300M to end up in fifth place, five lengths behind
the winner. He would have come on with the run under his belt and the extra
ground should be to his liking. BLONDE ‘N’ READY has cracked pole
position and finished well when making marked improvement last time out over
six furlongs. If he can confirm that effort, he should be respected in this
line-up.

Race 6.
With the late scratching
of one of her main rivals, the way may have opened for TEQUILA BOOM to record
her fourth career victory. She
is a 5yr
old mare taking on the boys, but she improved to win her last outing over six
furlongs, despite being friendless in the betting markets. She battled all the
way down to the wire that day and if showing the same determination here, she
may prove to be hard to topple. She jumps from gate four and is made the best
bet on today’s program.
AQUAJAK
missed out
on his hat-trick when finishing sixth last time out over five furlongs. He was
only run out of it late that day and steps up in distance here, but if suited
to the extra ground, he could threaten the top pick. ZOU YORK has showed steady improvement in his last two runs,
finishing third in his latest outing over 1300M, one and a half lengths off the
winner. He has his peak run today and if he has continued down that same path,
he should be considered here.

Race 7.
A small field of just
seven runners face the starter here, but finding the winner is no easy task. JOHN
BOOKE
was hampered entering the straight before
ending up fourth last time out over 1300M. With better luck in running today,
he should be right up there in the firing line from his gate three. MISS MARGS is
a 4yr old filly taking on males, but she followed up her penultimate run
victory over this distance with 6.7L defeat next time out over a shorter 1300M
trip. She was slowly away that day, but if getting away on terms here and with
going back over what appears to be a more suitable distance of a mile, she is
likely to threaten the former. STANDING OVATION is a 5yr old mare
who was somewhat disappointing last time out over a mile. That was her second
run after a rest and she did shift around in the straight, so could perhaps be
forgiven for that effort. She has pole position and will get the services of
ex-SA jockey Sean Cormack, so she should be included in all bets.

Race 5.
With the late scratching
of one of his main rivals, the door may have opened for FLUTTERING
 to
claim his maiden victory at the third time of asking. He has finished second in
his two runs to date, the latest over six furlongs at this track. He raced
three wide that day before making good late progress to get within one and a
half lengths of the winner, suggesting that the extra ground on offer here will
be to his liking. He gets a handy draw four and is taken as the best bet on
today’s card. NOIR JACK stayed on when showing marked improvement
to end up in third place in his last outing over six furlongs. He is drawn one
inside the top choice and could emerge has his biggest danger. MURTALLICA is
a 5yr old mare taking on the boys, but she was hampered when fifth last time
out over 1300M and should have finished closer as a result. She jumps from gate
five and could complete the trifecta.

Race 6.
DUNATUN followed
up his penultimate run victory over six furlongs with a third place finish over
the same trip at this venue next time out. He has a wideish draw of eight, but
on the plus side, he will have 2kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming
apprentice. NARDA SHAR and MOSS THE BOSS renew their rivalry here and the form of
their last clash over this c&d is likely to be confirmed. The latter
finished 1.8L in front of the latter that day and as he is now only 0.5kgs
worse of at the weights, that should not be enough for the tables to be turned.
The pair are drawn alongside each other at gates nine and ten, so neither will
have any real advantage in that regard.

Race 7.
DELUXE ROCKER missed
out on his hat-trick when finishing second in his latest run over six furlongs,
but was only beaten by a head. He attracted plenty of betting support that day
and will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways here. His two prior wins had
been recorded over five furlongs, so the drop in distance should be to his
liking.
SERBELLONI
was a narrow
head winner of his last outing over the c&d. He is a speedy sort who is
sure to put his pole position to good use and may prove difficult to overhaul
in the closing stages of the contest. AMMATE won his last start over 900M by
one length and has drawn gate six. The form of that race has been franked and
he should be included in all bets.

Race 8.

As with the first leg of
the Jackpot, the late scratching in the race may come to the assistance of AROHA
TE MANA
to post his third career victory. He has
finished second in his last two outings over this distance, the latest when a
half length back from the winner. He was returning from a 25 week break that
day and whilst draw wide in gate twelve, he should be picking off the
frontrunner over the latter stages of the race.
EL OF A SAGA on the hand has
pulled pole position. She is a 4yr old filly taking on boys, but she only got
going very late before winning her last outing over this c&d by one and a
half lengths. She is sure to give the males a good run for their money. HEMSTED is a speedy sort who has improved in his last two starts, the
latest when third over the six furlong journey at this track, 1.7L back from
the winner. She has a wideish draw nine, but should still be respected in this
line-up.

Race 2.
With the three late
scratchings, only five runners face the starter here and LOVE TAP looks the proverbial
penalty kick. He has won both of his starts to date over six furlongs, the
latest when putting over four lengths between himself and the opposition. He
won going away suggesting that the step up in distance is well within his
grasp. He jumps from pole position to add to his ammunition. AUBURN BOY
 stayed on well when
finishing second last time out over a mile, one and a half lengths behind the
winner. He should complete the exacta here.
HARD REALITY went from jump to wire to win
his last outing over seven furlongs and could prove dangerous if allowed too
much start.

Race 5.
COMMANDING MISSILE won
on debut over 1100M by just under a length, despite ducking out sharply in the
closing stages of the race. But for that he would have been a far more
comfortable victor. He jumps from a handy draw four and seems good enough to
record a quick double here. LUVOIR had made steady improvement in his last three
runs, culminating in his maiden win last time out over seven furlongs. He takes
on stronger today and has a wideish gate eight, but he will get the services of
ex-SA jockey
Keagan Latham, so will get all the necessary
assistance from the saddle.
CORDYCEPS
MIRACLE
showed
marked improvement to win his last outing over 1300M before taking an 18 week
break. He returns here after posting two encouraging barrier trials and has a
kind draw three. He should be involved in the finish.
Race 6.
EXPLOSIVE TRUTH returns
from a 14 week rest, but he has finished second in both his barrier trials to
showcase his well-being. He had finished second in his two runs prior to disappointing
in the race over seven furlongs that prompted the absence. He will have to
negotiate draw nine, but he should nevertheless be right up there when they hit
the line.
QUALIS
jumped
awkwardly before staying on well to finish third on debut over six furlongs. He
has a wide draw of twelve to overcome, but he would have learnt from the
experience and with the natural improvement that can be expected, he should
threaten the top choice. TINTAGEL on the other hand has pulled pole
position. He finished fifth first time out over 1100M and get a set of blinkers
fitted for today’s run. If these have the desired effect, he could be a big
runner here.

Race 7.
This looks to be a tricky
F&M Handicap and some caution is suggested. STILL REIGNING
 tried
to win from the front before finishing fourth last time out over seven
furlongs, one and a half length back from the victor. She has gate six and is
likely to attempt similar tactics today.
BELLA FIGURA finished off her race well
when third on debut over 1100M and on that effort, she should relish the extra
ground on offer here. Her draw four will do her no harm. TAYLOR BE SWIFT looked a possible winner before being
collared on the line to be denied victory by just a head in her debut run over
six furlongs. She has the widest draw of them all at gate fifteen, but she
should be doing her best work late. JANNEKE
returns from a lengthy 44 week
absence, but has had all of four barrier trials, winning the latest. She
finished fifth on debut over six furlongs and from draw three, she should not
be lightly dismissed.

Race 8.

RENASCENCE
did not have
the clearest of passages when showing good improvement to win his last start
over six furlongs by a head. He gets to jump from draw four and looks to be the
value bet at today’s meeting. KING MOMBASSA put in a solid last effort to be
fifth over six furlongs, 1.4L behind the winner last time out. He has his first
run for his new trainer and should use his early gate speed to move across with
expending too much energy.
RISE TO FAME is seldom far off the
action and was making good late progress to finish fifth in his last outing
over six furlongs. From draw six he should be right up there in the firing
line.
