Of course the lightly raced KINGSTON ROCK ran on again to finish just under half a length in front of the top selection exactly two weeks ago but is now 2.5kgs worse off though he certainly has decent scope for progress.

The older guard are favourably weighted in this exciting Progress Plate where all eyes will firmly be on the recently gelded Drier inmate SAND AND SEA who returns to the ‘Mother City’. Of course the four- year old son of Twice Over didn’t live up to his juvenile exploits last campaign but perhaps the unkindest cut of all could do the trick for the highly talented bay.

LADDER MAN is progressing but just appeared to need his comeback run over seven furlongs in a decent field four weeks ago and he will be fitter now. The step-up to the mile will suit the bay son of Twice Over who is the stable elect from the Snaith yard.

PRINCESS IRENE is still improving and she was making steady headway when 2nd best behind a runaway winner over a mile last month but this extra furlong should suit her perfectly and the Brett Crawford inmate can go one better. DANCING FOR RAIN has decent credentials though her fitness will be tested as she returns from a nine week absence for her in-form yard.

The three-year olds should pose a major threat with surprising riding engagements within the Snaith yard.
