DEEPSTON set the pace in his last run over the mile, but did not find extra late, but the drop back in trip may be more to his liking. His penultimate run over the c&d behind Vardy was good, particularly as he lost 1.5L at the start. A repeat of that effort should see him just about winning this contest today.

MIRAGE won at the first time of asking over the minimum distance at this track. She showed speed and stayed on well in the closing stages, so should have no problem in getting the extra ground. The grey Captain Al filly is trained by Vaughan Marshall who has had considerable success with his progeny in the past.
