Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: BLOW IN THE BOX(2)
Jockey: Bernard FAYD’HERBE – Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

BLOW IN THE BOX has shown promise and he finished well for 2nd despite some issues over this c & d second time out. The Lateral colt was a length and a half ahead of the next placed entrant ENDOFMARCH and he has obvious scope for further progress. He would have gained from that first experience around the turn.

TOP BET
Race 2: RINGS AND THINGS(6)
Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER – Trainer: Dean KANNEMEYER

The Bass-Robinson stable holds a strong hand in this seven-furlong contest and the draw should make all the difference to the confident top selection RINGS AND THINGS who is progressing smartly with experience. The Querari filly could set her own tempo to great effect here.

Race 6: SUPERCILIOUS(3)
Jockey: Donovan DILLON – Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

An interesting renewal of this listed sprint where there aren’t too many speedy types & SUPERCILIOUS‘ smart turn of foot, makes him a huge contender. The Ramsden inmate is versatile and she defied the ratings to beat MISS MARKER (0.5kg worse off) going away in a seven-furlong conditions event in early January. She races fresh after the 19-week break and should be highly competitive. The latter could find things much tougher over this unfavourable trip, particularly in a likely false run affair.

Race 8: AFRICAN NIGHT SKY(1)

Jockey: Bernard FAYD’HERBE – Trainer: Justin SNAITH

AFRICAN NIGHT SKY was super-impressive in his Guineas victory over OUR MATE ART & all five of today’s remaining entrants. The Dynasty gelding raced wide from a poor draw that day but ran on smartly to beat the latter by a length and a quarter at the line and will have no issues over the extra furlong. The likely sedate gallop won’t pose an issue for the Justin Snaith inmate who has a smart turn of foot.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 9: CHESTNUT WILD(9)
Jockey: Anthony ANDREWS – Trainer: Andries STEYN

In stark contrast to the prior event, the pace should be hot here and the well-weighted four-year-old CHESTNUT WILD could profit from that. This is the bay gelding’s best distance and he is often thereabouts. He continues to steadily drop in the ratings and should be highly competitive with another low mass.
