Kranji Tips – Sunday 16 June 2024

RACE 1 – Time: 06:30 Class 5 Handicap | 1100m

SACRED ORDER is still waiting to break through here in Singapore, she’s been a promising mare with plenty of scope. Had her chance on multiple occasions and continues to perform well. Should see betting support now. DIAMOND RING wasn’t disgraced last start and finds a similar race this week. Key booking with Daniel Moor taking the ride from barrier four. Could be the biggest danger to Sacred Order and he is very honest.

RACE 2 – Time: 07:00 | Open Maiden | 1600m

SPIETH HEROINE has been waiting to get her first win here in Singapore but has always finished behind one better on the day. Now comes up to 1600m and gets a perfect barrier. She will get back but should get every chance from barrier four. FLYING FIGHTER is an honest horse, he is building a nice record in lower grades but has had excuses in the past. Nunes sticks aboard but draws out wide. Watch betting support.

RACE 3 – Time: 07:30 | Class 4 Handicap | 1200m

RAVALLI is a very progressive young horse for the Fitzsimmons yard, first-up run in Singapore was very promising but had some excuses when caught wide, should take natural improvement out of that. Should be respected in this. DANCING LIGHT drops down into class 4, last time he was in this grade he won well at a big price. He doesn’t have the strongest form on the turf over this distance but could be supported on race day.

RACE 4 – Time: 08:00 | Class 5 Handicap | 1100m

Selections: 2/6/7

WINS EIGHT has one of the strongest form lines in this race. Loomed up at the right time last start but wasn’t beaten far when finishing into a minor placing. He has great early speed over this trip and Daniel Moor now obtains the ride. HAPPY FRIDAY produced a great win last start, stormed home from near last and turned his form around. Needs a genuine speed but should get back from the outside gate. Got everything to suit last start but could find it hard to hold his form.

RACE 5 – Time: 08:30 | Kranji Stakes A | 1400m

Selections: 1/2/6

GOLDEN MONKEY put in a great performance in the Group 1 Kranji Mile last start, finished third to Singapore’s best (Lim’s Kosciuszko). He was ridden further back and flew home from near last, he is a very honest horse and a proven competitor in this race. Won a recent trial. GHALIB and the Al-Arabiya outfit are in tremendous form and have plenty of nice horses, Ghalib is no exception, he keeps raising the bar with each run. He will be the biggest danger to Golden Monkey after he finished third to Lim’s Saltoro in Kranji Stakes A grade last start carrying more weight.

RACE 6 – Time: 09:00 | Class 4 Handicap | 1700m

LONGEVITY is  building a great record here in Singapore and has burst onto the scene. His last few runs have been impressive, and he is very strong over 1600m. Last start he was held up and wasn’t between far. Should go well this weekend. LIM’S PUNCAK JAYA was well supported late in betting last time around, won well on the Poly track and never looked like stopping. He’s improved immensely and should be competitive again.

RACE 7 – Time: 09:30 | Class 5 Handicap | 2000m

Selections: 4/2/8

TONY’S LOVE won well last start over this distance, hit the line hard and relished the trip. He’s always been consistent in class 5 and will be supported on race day. A BETTER TOMORROW steps up to 2000m and could be dangerous. He has been a great horse for connections and is very competitive in this grade. Will need to push forward from an outside gate but gets Curatolo onboard again.

RACE 8 – Time: 10:00 | Class 4 Handicap | 1100m

Selections: 3/1/2

LAST SUPPER didn’t have things go to plan in Three-Year-Old series, he comes back into class 4 and 1100m which should suit. He had a recent trial behind Sacred Buddy in a moderate time. He’s had a few weeks off now and should be fresh enough. GROOVY’s last two runs have been excellent. Most recently finished fourth behind Per Incrown. The biggest concern is the weight. He normally finds it hard to hold his form.

RACE 9 – Time: 10:30 | Class 5 Handicap | 1200m

Selections: 1/6/7

CIANGO can surprise in a race like this, will see plenty of betting support now dropping down into class 5. The first time he was in this grade he won. Should get plenty of benefit with a four-kilogram claim and perfect draw. SACRED GOLD produced a huge run last start behind Red Maned, continued to hit the line hard and should see out a strong 1200m. Now comes onto the turf and draws well in barrier six.

Race 10 – Time: 11:00 | Class 4 Handicap | 1100m

Selections: 7/5/3

SACRED BUDDY is a very progressive horse here in Singapore, he won easily last start in class 5 and will be very competitive again, now stepping back up to class 4. He has a terrific record and will be near favourite. PACIFIC COMMANDER is coming out of the Three-Year-Old series, wasn’t competitive and has been looking to get back into a winnable grade. He’s shown plenty of ability in class 4 and looks the biggest threat to Scared Buddy.
