Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips for Sunday’s racing at Sligo, Stratford and Perth.
Sligo Best Bets
Race 1: BACHELOR (1)
Trainer: Noel Kelly
Jockey: Conor Orr
The losses sustained on BACHELOR when he was given too much to do at Wexford can be recouped with interest in this weak maiden hurdle. He now gets the assist of the jockey that rode him on his first start of the campaign and they should prove very hard to beat.
Race 2: BENEFIT RUN (4)
Trainer: Ross O’Sullivan
Jockey: L Dempsey
For a 40-1 roughie BENEFIT RUN acquitted himself with credit at Downpatrick, keeping on to trouble the judge and in so doing indicating he has the ability to take a race of this nature. In fact he would have finished closer but for meeting interference, and can get the better of Argent Et Or.
Stratford Best Bets
Race 1: TWO BLONDES (7)
Trainer: Donald McCain
Jockey: William Kennedy
Jumping has always been the destiny of TWO BLONDES who can reverse Market Rasen placings with What Will Be. Holding tactics were employed on that occasion but this strong galloper might be just as suited to being allowed to stride on and will be sharper with the benefit of that run behind him.
Race 5: SIMPLY LOVEHEH (6)
Trainer: Dan Skelton
Jockey: Harry Skelton
Although not winning as easily as he promised to, SIMPLY LOVELEH got the job done at Uttoxeter and now finds himself in a lower grade. He traveled strongly on that occasion and with a couple of bold front runners in the field should enjoy the strong pace off which to utilise his smart turn of foot.
Perth Best Bets
Race 4: THEFLYINGPORTRAIT (1)
Trainer: Jennie Candlish
Jockey: Brian Hughes
The concession of weight all round shouldn’t stop THEFLYINGPORTRAIT from taking this handicap chase from out of form rivals. The ten-year-old has the best form and the best jockey, and can make all to better his recent second at Ashoka at Aintree.
Race 7: OUTCROP (2)
Trainer: Jennie Candlish
Jockey: Tom Dowson
OUTCROP keeps knocking on the door and posted a solid effort behind Golden Town over this course and distance last time. That was a better race, while the selection had previously gone close at Ffos Las. If turning up’ in similar form he can put his head on front.
