He holds a smart record on this tight track, having gone close over this distance, three runs back. It is interesting that his conditioner equips him with blinkers and the headgear should help his cause.

With just eight runners going to post for this competitive handicap, the topweight DAKIWE will be suited to the likely sedate gallop. The Roy Magner inmate is in good form, having won 2 of his last 3 starts. He just lasted to beat stronger opposition on this track recently and can defy the resultant four-pound penalty in this class.

The veteran stayer STORM WARNING had a fair last campaign which culminated with a creditable effort behind subsequent Gold Cup winner Enaad at Greyville last time out. He skipped the marathon staying event at the end of that month possibly due to a setback and the Jet Master gelding has since changed stables. He is slightly out at the weights in this pinnacle contest but has an excellent c & d record and is the one to beat.

The three-year-old filly SULTRY relished the steep rise in distance and she beat subsequent winner Consequentially in impressive fashion in the maidens over nine furlongs on this track, five weeks ago. That was just her second career outing and the daughter of Mambo In Seattle is clearly above-average. She jumps high up in class today but is progressive and will enjoy this extra furlong. The Mike de Kock inmate is well drawn and lightly weighted on her handicap debut & she is clearly worth following.

The daughter of King Of Kings is well drawn at gate 3 and her track experience should stand her in good stead.
