CHIMICHURI RUN has blossomed into a high quality sort and he thrashed older rivals on his seasonal debut earlier this spring. He gave every indication that today’s extra furlong will suit him and the chestnut son of Trippi should take a power of beating despite being 0.5kg worse off at the weights with another highly talented sort in ALYAASAAT from the powerful de Kock yard.

The filly RAILTRIP had an outstanding juvenile campaign which culminated with a solid 2nd at the highest level when she attempted the mile and her eye-catching recent seasonal debut sprint indicated that she has trained on this term. The daughter of Trippi will strip fitter today and she is extremely well treated at the weights on official ratings. Furthermore, she will love this switch to the stands- wide course and should take some beating despite her wide draw.
Race 6: CELTIC SEA(1)

Jockey: S Khumalo – Trainer: S Tarry

The high class CELTIC SEA ended her successful last campaign with a pulsating triumph in a Grade 2 at Greyville despite many issues, thereby underlining her huge potential. She meets a smart field on her belated seasonal debut but her top conditioner will have her fit and ready and she is expected to come through this test unscathed.

The Tarry yard holds a very strong hand in the day’s topliner and last season’s runner-up in this event, SOCIAL ORDER is expected to go one better after his fair comeback run in treacherous conditions last month. His stablemate’s MATADOR MAN and TILBURY FORT form a healthy coupling for the yard with a slight preference for the latter who has excellent Highveld form as a gelding. His only flop after the cut was in the ‘Durban July’ where he raced wide at the coast. In stark contrast, the former is a revelation in the same province and he crushed weaker rivals in impressive fashion last time out. His record on this galloping circuit is dismal but he should easily up his game at this level and merits healthy respect.
