GIMMETHEWALTZ is one of the better bets on today’s card. She was a beaten odds-on favourite when third in her last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight meets the right field this afternoon and she can make amends.
Race 3: MEU CAPITANO (3)
Jockey: G van Niekerk – Trainer: E Steyn
MEU CAPITANO was super-impressive when winning on debut over this C&D. He raced from just off the pace, quickened up well and won with a ton in hand. The son of Captain Of All found plenty of betting support that day which suggests that he was showing good work at home. He could be anything and with Grant van Niekerk retaining the ride, he can remain unbeaten.

MOONACRES ran a fair race on debut over 1000m on this course. He understandably raced green, but stayed on at the business end. The son of Trippi would have gained from the experience and will love the extra furlong on offer. Grant van Niekerk takes the ride and with the natural improvement that is expected, he may be the one to side with.

FUSILLADE challenged strongly in her last start over 1100m on this course, but found one too good in the form of Miss Marguerite. She would have come on from the run and should strip a much fitter horse. The 5yo mare meets a similar line-up this afternoon and she can go one better.
