Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips from UK Racing at Lingfield and Catterick on Tuesday 25 February 2020.
Lingfield Best Bets
Race 3: IN DEMAND (1)
Trainer: Roger Charlton
Jockey: Adam Kirby
Connections of IN DEMAND decided against running on Fibresand yesterday to wait for this, which isn’t isn’t the strongest of heats. He should be hard to beat given his effectiveness on Polytrack shown with his best effort from three starts this year when a staying on third at Kempton.
Race 4: DARK VADER (1)
Trainer: Joseph O’Brien
Jockey: Oisin Murphy
DARK VADER landed the odds with consummate ease on his seasonal return at Dundalk which makes him the one to beat in this six furlongs sprint round a bend. He dictated matters from soon after the gates opened and readily opened up a gap with runner up Power Ahead when asked to assert. His trainer is hitting the board with regularity with his travellers from Ireland.
Catterick Best Bets
Race 4: DUC DE GRISSAY (3)
Trainer: Sandy Thomson
Jockey: Ryan Mania
Too talented to remain a maiden over fences for long, this is a good opportunity for DUC DE GRISSAY to step up to the plate. Taking a class drop after troubling the judge at Haydock in the race won by Silva Eclipse, he will relish the testing conditions in what is sure to become a real test, even on this easy track.
Race 5: LOOSE CHIPS (4)
Trainer: Charlie Longsdon
Jockey: J Nailor
The one worry about LOOSE CHIPS is whether multiple scorer Ask Paddy will take him on for the lead, but if the recent Plumpton scorer can assume command he should make a bold fist of going from tape to winning line. The aggressive tactics adopted last time can prove equally as effective on this sharp course.
