UK Racing Best Bets – Wednesday 6 November 2019

Jockeys ride horses

Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips from UK Racing at Kempton Park, Wolverhampton, Nottingham, Chepstow and Musselburgh.

Kempton Park Best Bets

Race 3: PENPAL (10)
Trainer: James Fanshawe
Jockey: Daniel Muscutt

Although beaten on her debut over this course and distance back in August, PENPAL displayed ability to do her best work at the finish off a waiting ride. Her trainer has afforded her the patience of Job and she can reward him for that sympathetic approach by overcoming a potentially tricky outside draw in this.

Race 7: DUBAI TRADITION (6)
Trainer: Saeed Bin Suroor
Jockey: Callum Shepherd

DUBAI TRADITION was a dual scorer on turf mid season and posted a solid enough effort on Tapeta at Wolverhampton when third to Paths Of Glory. She looks the undisputed main protagonist from her stable which also fields Big Challenge, and can get back to winning ways.

Wolverhampton Best Bets

Race 3: GOSSIP (11)
Trainer: Martyn Meade
Jockey: Ben Curtis

Getting 9lb from the colt and likely favourite Moosmee, GOSSIP is worth backing to turn over the favourite. Her debut third behind Star In The Making at Salisbury reads well, and she’s benefitted from being given time to get over those exertions. She looks certain to give a good account.

Race 4: SILCA MISTRESS (3)
Trainer: Clive Cox
Jockey: Hector Crouch

While holding no secrets from the handicapper, SILCA MISTRESS can bounce back after failing to get the trip when upped to seven furlongs at Kempton last time. While she has never won at Wolverhampton, she seems just as good on sand as on turf, while she is also well drawn for a sprinter with plenty of natural toe.

Nottingham  Best Bets

Race 1: BEAUTY STONE  (1)

Trainer: Charlie Appleby
Jockey: Brett Doyle

There was plenty to like about BEAUTY STONE’s debut effort at Newmarket when the colt was too green to do himself justice. Nevertheless he kept on to finish sixth to Spring Of Love and has shown in the ensuing month that he’s learned plenty from it. If transferring that the racecourse he should have a big say in the outcome.

Race 4: CAMAHAWK (3)
Trainer: Tim Easterby
Jockey: Duran Fentiman

Although he’s a stoutly-bred individual, CAMAHAWK displayed good speed throughout his debut over seven furlongs at Doncaster, finishing third to Magnetised. Juveniles from his yard inevitably improve from their debuts and over this suitably longer distance the same can apply to the selection.

Chepstow Best Bets

Race 4: SIMPLY THE BETTS (5)
Trainer: Harry Whittington
Jockey: Daryl Jacob

Returning from a year off in this novices’ limited handicap chase, SIMPLY THE BETTS has schooled very well at home. It’s his first appearance over fences and although having a first outing in almost a year he’s fit and fancied by his trainer, whose horses are running well.

Race 6: STICK WITH BILL (9)
Trainer: Harry Whittington
Jockey: Gavin Sheehan

This is the chosen option from several races open to STICK WITH BILL who was very good in bumpers last season and has schooled satisfactorily at home. Golden Gift and Thunderstruck also boast solid form but Stick With Bill can have their measure.

Musselburgh Best Bets

Race 4: ARTHURS SECRET (3)
Trainer: A Thomson
Jockey: Rachel McDonald

For a 20-1 roughie ARTHURS SECRET ran a blinder on his reappearance over an inadequate trip, finishing just two and a quarter lengths adrift of Beechwood Jude after looming dangerously. Stepped up a full mile here, he can improve and get into the money and he should again be a working man’s price.
