Fast5 is an exciting modified version of netball, where we see five-a-side teams, multiple-point shots and double-point power plays. The quarters are also shorter than a traditional netball match.

World Netball CEO, Clare Briegal said the following about the return of Fast5:
“The FAST5 Netball World Series has had incredible success and a strong following and we’re looking forward to seeing that growth continue over the next three editions.”

In its inaugural year in 2009, this version of netball was known as Fast Net, but evolved into Fast5 in 2012. Australia, England, Fiji, Jamaica, Malawi, New Zealand, Samoa and South Africa have all participated in this tournament.

The last time the Fast5 took place was in 2018 in Melbourne Australia, with New Zealand taking home the gold, followed by Jamaica and Australia. The Ferns have been dominant in this competition, have held the title seven times.

This year, the top six teams will be invited. These teams are New Zealand, Jamaica, Australia, England, South Africa and Uganda. The schedule for this year will also include a mix of men’s teams and youth exhibition matches.
