The national senior Men’s team will kick off the tournament on Friday against Kenya, followed by Zimbabawe on the 3rd of December and then  Botswana on the 4th.

The play-offs and final will be staged on the 5th and 6th of December respectively.

The Proteas Pumas’ squad that will be representing South Africa was announced earlier this week, with Shiko Mokaila as captain.

Speaking on the qualifier’s tournament Mokaila said it is important to win this game and to make sure that Male Netball is recognized.

“Last year we came through, played, and came first. This year we intend to defend our title. We have 7 new faces who are coming into play, and these are the young ones, who will be playing an international series for the first time. The coach has been doing a very good job with us,” said Mokaila.

Netball South Africa also congratulated umpires Marielouw Van Der Merve and Chris Campbell and the Umpires Appointment Panel (UAP), after they had been selected to officiate at the Africa Netball Cup.

Meanwhile, the SPAR Proteas will be jetting off to England to face the Vitality Roses in a three test match series on December 5, 9 and 10.
