Two-time Rugby World Cup-winning Springbok lock Eben Etzebeth and his superstar wife Anlia have expressed great excitement at an opportunity to work together as the newest Hollywoodbets ambassadors.
The news of the Etzebeth family signing with the betting and entertainment giant were confirmed by Hollywoodbets during a glittering ceremony held in Umhlanga, north of Durban, on Thursday.
The two stars are one of Mzansi’s most famous couples as Anlia, who tied the knot with the world-renowned lock in February 2023, is not just a popular singer but also an actress and a fashionista of note.
Many will recall a special moment for the couple when Anlia sang the South African national anthem when Eben celebrated playing his 100th Test match for the Springboks in a clash against Wales at a packed Cape Town Stadium in 2022.
The couple expressed massive excitement about joining Hollywoodbets with Anlia pointing out that this provides them with a rare opportunity to work on something together.
“We are obviously super excited and it’s really nice to do something together as well because we don’t get to do a lot of partnerships as a couple, so it’s very exciting to do this together,” Anlia said.
“And obviously, having moved to Durban and Hollywoodbets comes from here, it’s nice to join the community.
“I’m especially excited about the horses. I love the horses, so I’m very excited about that.”
Eben, who is one of the key figures at the Hollywoodbets Sharks and the national team, echoed his wife’s sentiments.
“Hollywoodbets is a big part of the Sharks and for me when I got approached it was a thing I was interested in,” Eben said.
“And also, when the word came out that Anlia would be joining me, that made it even more exciting to join the brand and be part of it.
“We’ve already learned a lot of things about the company, everywhere they are and the things they are involved in and it’s something that our values are aligned with.”
Etzebeth helped the Boks to defend their world title last year in France after being part of the team that triumphed in 2019 in Japan.
