The team – which kicked off the season with a 41-13 victory against Wales at Twickenham on Saturday – was scheduled to fly back to South Africa on Sunday night to begin preparations for their upcoming double header against Ireland.

But the flight was cancelled late on Sunday night following several delays, which forced the team to remain in London for an extra night.

The Bok’s communications manager Shanthini Naidoo shared a few videos on Twitter of the Boks showing plenty of spirit and camaraderie as they made the best of being stuck at Heathrow Airport.

“Our flight was cancelled,” Naidoo said, “but there are bright smiles and songs – as only South Africans can do.”

“It’s after midnight in Heathrow.

“Surreal. We’re tired and dirty, and don’t know what time our flight will be rescheduled.

“But the Springboks are dancing.”

The squad is now set to fly to SA late on Monday afternoon and touch down in Johannesburg in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

As a result of this, Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus will announce his squad for the Castle Lager Incoming Series on Tuesday.
