With Rassie Erasmus no doubt already preparing for the 2027 World Cup in Australia, the Springbok mentor will be looking at integrating new players into the national setup over the next few years.

Perhaps some of South Africans who have been plying their trade overseas will hope a return to South African shores will increase their chances of turning out for the Springboks again.

One such player who would love a return to the test fold is Jan Serfontein who joined Montpellier back in 2017.

The 30-year-old Springbok had made over 100 appearances for the French Top 14 team including being captain on a few matches.

The Hollywoodbets Sharks as well as the Vodacom Bulls have been on the hunt for players as they’ve started on their recruitment drive for next season already.

According to The South African, the Sharks are been keen on the powerhouse duo of Jasper Wiese and Jason Jenkins.

Wiese has been with Gallagher Premiership outfit Leicester while Jenkins has been turning out for Irish side Leinster.

There is also the opportunity to lure Ruan Ackerman back to South Africa. The 27-year-old has remained on the books of Premiership side Gloucester since leaving the Lions in 2017.
