NEW CHAPTER: Get your 3D glasses, new Hollywoodbets Sharks flyhalf Jordan Hendrikse promises a movie in Durban

When the Hendrikse brothers began playing rugby as young boys, they didn’t know where their journey would take them, but they were pushed by one dream – to share a dressing room at a professional level.

And that dream has turned a reality after one of the most promising flyhalves in South African rugby Jordan Hendrikse signed for the Hollywoodbets Sharks ahead of the new season and linked up with his older brother Jaden.

Jordan made the switch to Durban after three impressive years in Johannesburg where he was playing the Emirates Lions.

“I’m very excited about the new season at the Sharks, I look forward to it. I look forward to joining the Sharks family,” Jordan said in an Instagram video post shared by his agency Roc Nation.

“Going back to Durbs where (my) and my brother’s journey all started.”

Jordan, 23, and his World Cup-winning brother were schooled at Durban’s Glenwood High School.

Having gone to the school which is a feeder to the Sharks, representing the franchise was always the dream for the brothers.

“He’s kicked on immediately, mine took a bit of time,” Jordan said.

“I’m just blessed to go back and join him and hopefully, I will play a couple of games with him and just make history.

“We always had this rivalry of playing against each other, now (back at home), as a family they can support one team instead of two teams.

“And yeah, I definitely know our dad’s (who passed away last year) looking down on us with a smile, being so proud of us.”

The youngster has promised Sharks supporters fireworks ahead of the new Vodacom United Rugby Championship.

“We just want to put some action and for people to put their 3D glasses on and just on (because) you are just going to see a movie,” Jordan said.

“It’s going to be an awesome time down in Durban, Sharks family, I hope you guys are ready for the season.”
