The Highlanders have a slim chance of sneaking into the playoffs so they’ve selected their strongest available team. The Waratahs on the other hand have rested their key Wallabies so this means that this one can only go one way.

Rebels vs Chiefs

This one is very tough to call. Both teams will be desperate for a win to get into the playoffs picture. The return of Brodie Retallick will be a huge boost for the Chiefs but I feel that the Rebels at home in such a desperate situation will edge the Chiefs and if Quade Cooper and Will Genia can find their groove then the Rebels should make the playoffs for the first time in their history.

The Jaguares need a win to secure 2nd place on the overall log so they have selected a strong team for this fixture. I am expecting an almighty thrashing of the Sunwolves.

My fear for this match is that the Brumbies will make last minute changes to their team after they have seen the Jaguares result. As things stand they are three points away from second but their third spot is not under any threat. If they decide to keep the team they’ve selected then they should walk all over the Reds.

Stormers vs Sharks

Curwin Bosch’s injury seals the result for me. Even though the Stormers have injury issues themselves, the selection of Robert du Preez at flyhalf has been a disaster all year. Stormers will edge the Sharks who have just traveled back from Argentina. This will be a very tight match and the winner goes to the playoffs and the loser prays other results go their way.

The Lions have been dogged by injuries and a loss here will mean that they will probably lose out on a playoff spot. The Bulls return from what many may call a successful tour and will be confident of putting the wounded Lions away.
