The Free State Cheetahs and Southern Kings will go head to head on Saturday the 2nd of February in the only Pro 14 fixture taking place this weekend.
It may be a very limited PRO14 fixtures list this weekend with the start of the Six Nations seeing all the European sides out of action, but the game that will take place should be an absolute cracker with the Kings and Cheetahs set to square off in a South African Derby.

The men from Bloemfontein were in fantastic touch last weekend as they put a decent Zebre side to the sword out at Toyota Stadium. The 61-28 win was only the Cheetahs fifth win of the season but it was their third victory on the trot as they had beaten the Kings 17-24 the week prior and Zebre – in the reverse tie of last weekend’s battle in Bloemfontein – 12-27 in Italy.
So the Cheetahs are carrying some impressive form into this one and they will also have an added incentive headed into Saturday’s fixture as a win would see them move level on points with Conference A’s fifth-placed side, the Cardiff Blues.
Kings
Like the Cheetahs, the Kings also had a weekend to remember last week as they registered a shock 25-21 victory over red-hot Scottish outfit Edinburgh. The win was only their second of the season with their only other victory coming, in a touch of irony, against Edinburgh’s local rivals the Glasgow Warriors.
While the Kings have managed to register two wins at home, they have been dire on the road losing every single one of their away fixtures this term. They will be hard pressed to break this trend against a confident Free State side.

The men from the Free State really have started to find a bit of form in recent weeks. I can see them beating their local rivals by 14 points or more this Saturday.
