Munster v Cheetahs | Saturday 9 September | 18:15 | Thomond Park, Limerick.

To Win (80min)
Munster 1/33 | Draw 52/1 | Cheetahs 17/2

Three-time title holders and last terms runners up, Munster, will host the Free State Cheetahs this weekend in the second round of the Pro 14 fixtures. The Irish side had an easy win in round one against Treviso after scoring three tries in 30 minutes. Full back Andrew Conway was on song and he’ll be Munster’s main threat to the Cheetahs, along with their quality home record of one loss last year. The Irish side boasts a couple of their Internationals, as well as South Africans Jaco Taute and Jean Kleyn.

The Cheetahs have a slight chance should they keep their composure and not concede any yellow cards. They were punished by Ulster who ran in three tries in six minutes last time out. Key to the Free Stater’s chances will be their electric backline which includes Sevens players Rosko Speckman, veteran Cecil Afrika, Sergeal Petersen, and Makazole Mampimpi, all of whom can turn a game around at will.

But the adjustment to the Pro 14 might be a little tougher than one had thought for the South Africans, and a win against Munster at Thomond Park might sound a tad far-fetched.

Verdict Munster: 1/33
Having a go at the Cheetahs causing an upset based on their pure ability would get you a good price at 8/1, but if you are looking for a security and a sure thing take the favourites Munster to win under Rassie Erasmus at 1/25 to win comfortably.
