Pool A

France

Bang average effort this. Would have expected more from the tournament hosts. 5/10.

Uruguay

Uruguay always catch the eye with their unique light sky blue colour and this year’s kit is no different. Great yellow alternate strip too. 7/10.

Italy

Smart, simple design this for the Azzurri. Great pattern too. 7/10.

Namibia

Middling effort from the Southern Africans. Nothing special here. 5/10.

All Blacks

Considering the classic kits the Kiwis have sported over the years, this is a disappointing final product. The collar and silver fern pattern give it something of a cheap feel. 4/10.

Pool B

South Africa

Definitely an improvement on the 2019 version, especially with the traditional darker green. Stripes have been met with a mixed reception though while it would have been nice to have had a white Nike swoosh – seems like a bit of gold overkill. Solid overall. 7/10.

Ireland

Difficult to wrap your head around this one. The green is totally off while the collar and sleeves are pretty abject. Not Ireland’s finest by a long stretch. 2/10.

Scotland

Classy home kit this from the Brave Hearts. The Scottish tartan works brilliantly. Has the makings of a classic. 8/10.

Romania

The yellow of Romania is always a fun addition to World Cups, and this one, sporting red and navy blue sleeves, is another fantastic edition. 7/10.

Pool C

Australia

Very nice from the Wallabies. 8/10.

Fiji

The white home kit is great in its own right, but that red and black alternate strip is a thing of beauty. Excellent stuff this. 8/10.

Portugal

Another pearler, particularly that impressive red home kit. 7/10.

Wales

Home kit is solid and the black and yellow looks good. Just a pity we won’t be seeing Owens, Tipuric and AWJ in them. 7/10.

Pool D

Japan

Japan never really miss, though this is definitely a downgrade from four years ago. 6/10.

Samoa

Solid if unspectacular from the Samoans. 6/10.

Argentina

Good lord have the Pumas done the job here. That alternate kit has got to be an all-timer. 9/10.

England

Meh. 4/10.

Chile

Tournament debutants Chile have pulled off a blinder, with both the home and away (pictured) right up there. 7/10.
