The 1-capped Springbok who has been with the Hollywoodbets Sharks for 8 years brings an end to his stay in Durban. The French ProD2 club CA Brive on Monday officially announced the signing of Bosch on a contract until 2026.

While others may speculate why he is leaving the Sharks for a team that is in the second division is anyone’s guess. However, since the signing of Lions flyhalf Jordan Hendrikse and the rise of Siya Masuku, it’s quite clear that Bosch is down the pecking order.

Despite starting the season as the preferred flyhalf at the Sharks, Bosch has mostly been used as a substitute this year, starting just one game since March.

The 26-year-old joined the Sharks straight out of high school and made his professional debut as a 19-year-old in 2016.

However, having seen some of the highs and lows in his Sharks career, he was linked with a move to Top 14 strugglers Montpellier with the move ultimately falling through.

He celebrated his 100th cap for the franchise in the Challenge Cup quarter-final against Edinburgh at Kings Park and played off the bench in the final against Gloucester in London.

Bosch will start his French journey in the country’s second division, as Brive aim for promotion to the Top 14 after finishing in sixth place this season.

The ambitious Pro D2 side, owned by British billionaire Simon Gillham – have been busy on the recruitment market, signing former England international Courtney Lawes as well as Henzo Kiteau (Clermont), Samuel Maximin (Rouen), Hugo Verdu (Massy), Thoams Zenon (Nevers) and Ewran Dridi (Grenoble) ahead of next season.
