AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu says he'll make at least 10 new signings before the start of the 2021/22 DStv Premiership campaign.
Usuthu enjoyed a spectacular 2020/21 DStv Premiership campaign where they finished second behind league champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
Zungu is not keen to rest on his laurels and will invest in the club ahead of what he expects to be a very difficult season.
Speaking to KickOff, the president explained he will sit down with head coach Benni McCarthy and plot the way forward, having already made a couple of signings.
He said: “We are working not only on strengthening the squad but also creating requisite balance, given the demands of the coming season.
“We will be revealing the players that we’ve signed but also talk about players that we’ve released. That will be on the 5th of August – we will make all the plans public.
“We can’t reveal [names] right now. We’ve got a couple that we have signed from outside, and we’ve got a couple that we have promoted from the junior ranks, and also those that have returned from loan. So, I think we’re talking about 10 players.”
Zungu added: “I have not had an engagement with my technical team, Benni just got back into the country, so I’m still going to sit down with them to plan on all levels.”
