Head coach Hugo Broos has named a 38-man preliminary Bafana Bafana squad to face Uganda and South Sudan in two 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
Ronwen Williams is expected to captain Bafana Bafana in their two upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in September for the continental showpiece to be hosted in Morocco in 2025.
Broos’ side were last in action in a Group C World Cup qualifier double-header where they secured an important 1-1 draw away to Nigeria on 7 June. Before a 3-1 win over Zimbabwe on 11 June.
Bafana will now be aiming to build on their recent momentum to get their AFCON qualifying campaign off to a winning start against Uganda in a Group K clash.
The opening qualifier against Uganda will be played at Orlando Stadium at 18:00 on Friday, 6 September 2024, a SAFA statement confirmed.
After facing Uganda Bafana will travel to South Sudan to play their second Group K match on Tuesday, 10 September 2024.
